I've noticed a ghost image of the last page I looked at hanging out on my eReader screen. Also, has anyone else had problems with the piece that holds the two halves together cracking and falling apart?

I've got the Ghost image too, thus the constant refresh, But, no cracks. Entourage provides excellent warranty support, if you have a cracked piece contact them.

To exorcise ghost images, try recalibrrating the ereader.

Ghosting seems to be a characteristic problem of eInk. I suspect with the optimizations and new features enTourage added to the Reader, they may need to tweak things a bit more in an update. You can use Refresh to clear the ghosting when you see it.

If the hinge of your eDGe has cracked, you should contact Tech Support first thing Tuesday (does the US have Labour Day Monday off?). I haven't heard anyone specifically mention it cracking, but I have heard one or two report what sounded like wires getting pinched within the hinge, resulting in strange lines/colours on the screens.

It's sounding like a broken record, by try recalibrating the LCD side

Sometimes when I want to log in or type something in a search box, and then move on to another field (eg typing username first, then the password) I just get/see empty fields. When I click on one of those "empty" fields, only then I can see the text I typed in. When I want to check a box to choose an option in some kind of a form, I cannot see whether it's marked or not, it always looks unmarked. Sorry for this strange explanation, but I cannot explain it even in my mother tongue

I have my library moved to a 32GB external SD card.
After Dingo, this is what happens after I put the edge on 'standby' (close edge while still running).

After I 'wake up' edge by pressing menu button, i get the message 'SD card removed unexpectedly'. Then it goes through the 'SD card inserted etc etc..' This is followed by my reader app restarting (I see the edge image with books that you see while the edge boots).

Once the SD card was not 'found' again and I had to take it out and reinsert it.

Once, edge checked the SD card for errors (a new function??) after it was 'found' again.

I have now seen this whole thing happen at least 5-6 times in a row. I once put the edge to 'sleep' with nothing open on the reader side and I did not see the error, so must be something to do with the reader app.

Emen, I had the bug of not being able to see what I typed in fields before this update, and the same with the check boxes. Um I'm not sure if this is a bug because it just happened to me, I'll have to see if it happens again but I will not be happy if it happens again. My Edge turned off while I was in the shower, I'm not sure why. So I powered it back up and it is acting like its my first time using it. All my browser history and bookmarks are gone. All my settings have gone back to factory settings and my apps ask me to register like I've never used them before. I had it set up the way I wanted it now it's gone.

Given how repeatable this is, and the nature of the problem, be sure to send this to Tech Support directly when you get a chance.

This is very peculiar, and sounds to me that it should only happen if you execute the "Factory Reset" function. Be sure to send this to Tech Support directly so they can investigate. Hopefully this was a one time gremilin, but enTourage needs to be notified even if you're the only one.

When I'm looking to eink screen, the lowest Switch Application button doesn't work anymore. Before the update I could switch to journal.

surfing the web is fine, but often the browser closes itself spontaneously. Irritating.

That switch application button only functions now if you already have 2 applications open, for example a book and a journal. Now the button lets you switch between the 2 open. To open a new journal you use the journal button on the LCD side.

Hi,

I've recently begun connecting the Edge to my laptop, so Calibre may transfer downloaded periodicals to it.
I flip my device's orientation, as it is easier to work with since I'm right handed.
Once the edge is connected to my machine, the E-INK remains on the right-hand side, but it is flipped upside down. The only way to correct it is to re-perform the screen calibration procedure.

When I move from one page to the next on the LCD side (say moving from page 5 to page 6 on this forum topic) I lose any zoom level I set, it just goes back to the normal size. Tried recalibrating the LCD screen to to no avail. Anyone else have this problem?

^ I experience the same thing mgk. I didn't know it was a bug, just figured that was the way it worked. But yes, it would be nice if it retained the zoom level.
