What about D.H. Lawrence, John Cleland and Vladimir Nabokov? Those three come to mind when I think of adult themed books. Or rather "Lady Chatterly's Lover, Fanny Hill & Lolita" do. Not to mention some of the 1001 nights tales (the unexpergiated version). Some of those tales have a decided adult content even though they are short.

![]() I'm having a great time reading this As far as "adult themed" books, I liked Fanny Hill but never saw what people liked about Lolita. I found it kind of boring. Of course there's also Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller, the cause of a relatively famous obscenity trial here in OH. It actually has a plot to go along with all the sex, supposed to be autobigraphical.I'm amazed that those writers in the early 20th century got any writing done with all the sex they were having ![]() well, back to work. Happy (one handed) reading all! |

Actually, it was Fanny Hill that proved to me how most porn is boring. You have, what, about 12 minutes of that before you're so done.

what format? .imp was first (my ebook hardware reader), then .prc and most recently I tried to convert them to .epub (but these need a lot more work to compile/appear properly)? ![]() The "General Nasty Stories" are about 20MB for each format. The "Book Nook Book Series" was split over three ebooks totalling about 60MB for the .imp or .prc. The .epub's are currently around 120MB so I think it's including the "other two" ebook's contents each time I convert just one of the three ebooks in the set. calibre does strive to please when converting from .opf by following links in the .html index to ebooks that are NOT in the .opf so I think ALL the ebooks are in each of the three split ebooks... I'm going to have to redo this using a .zip of only the files I want to include!I converted just the above, though I did download most of the site (minus the zoo/pet stuff). I originally converted any .txt files to .html using a freeware utility called text2html.exe and used the site's own index to prepare an .opf that I created the .imp, .prc and .epub ebooks! I'd upload these, but the copyright status of the stories is unknown and the subject matter might not be appropriate for a public forum like this. Oh well, I do have a lot of ebooks I convert for myself that I can't upload (my source is usually a copyrighted website), so this seems par for the course for me...

![]() Now I love computer games as much as the next guy (male geek that is ) but come on people, basic general knowledge, hello !?Btw Abydos is not after the ancient Egyptian city (except indirectly) but after the first planet humans set foot on after passing through the stargate in the movie and series Stargate... Allright, here's a question for you book-reading geeks out there : HOW DID ENKIDU BECOME CIVILIZED (having begun as a wildman) ? I'll give you a clue - it's something more likely to occur to people with a dirty mind, like Poppaea and others... |
