Do you have a practical reason for wanting a device that has a user-replaceable battery or is it philosophical/theoretical?

Oftentimes, people want to be able to replace the battery to be able to deal with those "what-if" scenarios...but in practical actual use, never needed to deal with them. I'm not saying that those what-ifs never happen, but has it happened enough to you to make it a determining factor on what to buy?

In my consumer gadget experiences (which are quite extensive) I've never had an issue with a non-replaceable battery where it caused me a problem. I usually outgrow the device before the battery becomes an issue. On those rare occasions where I wasn't ready to move on, the price of a comparable replacement device made it feasible to simply upgrade.

food for thought.
