The titles were the same for the last two weeks, which is the time frame I was posting about the slowness problem. A couple days ago I decided to change how I do my authors and only updated the 350, I think (since that's the one I'm keeping). I was going to make sure the same books were on both before doing a proper comparison-- I just didn't get around to the 650 yet. Besides, the slowness wasn't just while reading a book, it was everywhere. In the menus, PRS+ settings, viewing pictures, etc. Honestly, it doesn't matter to me anymore, since I've made the decision to keep the 350.

That said, I did not make sure the notes were the same on both. Never occurred to me. I'm not sure how to do that anyway. I seriously hope notes are not the reason, otherwise my reader will just be getting slower over time. I make lots of notes for a book group I'm in.

Personally when I find my reader slowing down, I reboot and all is well again. I think excessive notetaking (which I do as well) can leave OS threads running that don't always close down properly, and rebooting takes care of that.

I have been wondering if that might be the case. My battery last week was running down very quickly on my 950, and I had the wireless turned off at the time. Prior to the battery issue, I had been taking many notes (highlights and keyboard) in a very large EPUB file (~2000 pages). I powered down and back on, and all has been normal with battery life for several days since then.

If the 650 is faster, it's very slight. But as already noted in this thread, everything effects speed. That means notes, number of books, collection arrangement, storage type (internal memory or card) and size of book.

You absolutely must be in the same book and on the same page. You also should have the same number of books arranged on both Readers and no expansion cards installed.

I was shocked at how fast the 350 was when I got it. I'd had the 650 for about a month beforehand, and speed was so close I had no issue switching completely over to the 350. I may try a couple of side-by-sides to see if there is any significant difference.
