Thanks, then I'll stop wondering about it.

Have you noticed any decrease in battery life? That is another big topic with 4.3 for some.

Bah... mirroring = ipad1+jailbreak+displayout from cydia. That's why I jailbroke mine... beautiful mirroring for presentations (no, I don't play Angry Birds on a large screen). And if 4.3 doesn't support vga out mirroring then I'll wait until it's jailbroken. If it ain't broken, don't fix it! >_> I'm not going to update for just "snappier Safari"!

4.3 has caused several previously stable apps to crash on my wife's ipod touch. Good to hear a fix maybe coming.

I installed 4.3 on my first-generation iPad (32 GB, WiFi only) three days ago. Almost immediately, Safari started running slower and some apps began to get laggy and/or crash. In addition, battery life began to degrade to the point that, even in standby, I'm losing approx. 15% per hour. This is problematic in that I'm planning to sell this to a family member to help finance purchase of an iPad 2, and I don't think I could presently do so with a clear conscience. So I hope the aforementioned "update update" really is on the horizon.

The battery life issue seems to have been determined to be because of the "Ping" service. You can disable it, and that apparently takes care of that.

FWIW, the 4.3.1 update did not fix the problem with my wife crashing apps. If Apple wants to recruit more people into the cult with the "our walled-garden ensures a quality user experience" spin, this isn't helping.

I'm getting the exact same issues.
I really wish I didn't update and just kept my jailbreak intact. sigh.

I found nasty *improvements* in java script engine Suddenly some of my favourite web sites runs slower and some web link does not work.

I found what happened by comparing the same page on notebook. There are advertisement embeded on the page which pop-up at some time. On iPad with 4.3 they also popup but unvisible so you cannot close them and obviously the javascript blocks somewhere in infinite loop of advertisement animation which never appear. I just pushed my finger for a longer time and blue "copy" box highlighting the invisible advertisement showed. However there is no way to close the invisible window. That's real bug in the new javascript engine.

I bought an ipad 1 on Saturday and updated to iOS 4.3.1 on Sunday.
It's incredible and fast too.
My experience is with Android tablets but am now a fan of the ipad. I sold my Android the day after purchasing the ipad.
I highly recommend upgrading to 4.3.1.

F.Y.I, After changing the "Ping" settings as you suggested, my browser and stability issues have been corrected. I'm not sure how noticeable any speed changes from the original are, but at least they're not headed in the wrong direction now . Hope you get your issues resolved soon, too. Take care.

EDIT - BTW, I have installed the 4.3.1 update.

Glad it worked out! The only remaining problem we have is that she can't play certain games while listening to music as she could in he beginning, but each time one of those apps gets an update it seems to be resolved.
I still have reservations about Apple's pricing and marketing, but I must say I'm impressed with the performance of these new devices.

I'm a tad slower to read through all the threads but anyway, if you haven't already made a decision the original iPad is doing just fine thank you.
From my experience, I've not noticed a change at all through two upgrades on the original iPad. I only use it for mail, web and iBooks.
