And in the process, our whatever-the-heck he is actually contributes, via an excellent demonstration of parts of speech and synonyms. "Right" and "justness" could both mean the same thing in a legal sense, but not when discussing anger. "Equivalent" certainly means "like" if you're talking comparisons, but not juice preferences. All eight of the substitutions are like this. His other four posts are the same way: thesaurus substitutions made to previous posts, words that could be considered synonyms in one sense but not, obviously, as used.

I've seen this in the works of novice writers who are over-reaching their own abilities. They don't think their words can stand on their own, so they try to dress them up, usually with the help of a thesaurus. Since they don't really understand what those words mean, they decide "regularize" would be a good (and swankier-sounding) replacement for "even", and write accordingly. This no doubt impresses people with the same level of knowledge that they have, but just looks silly to the rest of us.

As for this guy ... who knows. He posted five of these things in a short period, then nothing. The mods haven't done anything about him, or the strange posts. And he hasn't been back. So I'm confused.

Went to my local closing Borders last weekend and it was a madhouse. Hard to even find parking. The checkout line was unbelievable. The funny thing is the books I found that I would be interested in purchasing are available on Amazon for 40% off full retail. Borders "fire sale" had them at only 20% off full retail. The two books are $70 each so it would make a big difference.

So my initial thought on seeing the huge crowd was, why don't they just discount everything 20% everyday? My second thought was, why am I wasting my time here when I can get the books I want cheaper online? My third thought, haven't all these people heard of Amazon? They did have magazines at 40% off and I would have bought one or two except for the super long line.

here's the thing: there was always a 30% off one item coupon available for Borders at any given time (and at one time there used to be 40% off coupons frequently). Big part of the reason it was my brick and mortar of choice.

I went to the "sale" yesterday and almost every book is at 20%. Only thing I saw at 40% was magazines.

So I could have printed out a coupon and gone to a store that was not closing and gotten a better deal on any book I was looking for.

I have to assume they're gonna ratchet up the discounts shortly.

He might be the confused one.
Some of the sentences remind me of the online screeds of the Arizona shooter.

That's how store closings work under bankruptcy.
One week at 20%.
Then one week at 30%.
40%.
etc.
Essentially they want to sell each item at the highest price it will sell at, somewhat like a stretched-out reverse auction.
And the process works; by the time they get to the discounts that would cause riots there is nothing worthwhile left.
With Borders, I guess that'll be the self-help books.
