For app organizers I would try searching in the Market for "folder", "organizer", etc. |

I have the calendar, I think it was stock, my issue now is getting it on the home screen, it is buried in with a bunch of other apps.
ok, I will look for those, thanks! |

I don't like the Android calender app that came preloaded on the phone, so I downloaded "Calendar Pad" from the market. I love it and use it heavily, and it syncs to Google calendar so if, God forbid, I should lose my phone I won't lose my calendar. I also use a sticky note app called "Color Note" to keep various lists of things organized and to give me a place to write a quick note to myself. I could go on and on. I use my phone for everything!

Tip: If you have a space for your calendar on the home screen, just "long press" in that space and it will give you the option to put a shortcut or a widget or a few other things there. Choose shortcut, then choose application, then choose your calendar app, and it will be there on your homescreen. If you decide you don't want it, or any other icon, on the homescreen, just press and hold the icon and a trash can will appear at the bottom of the screen that you can drag it to. It doesn't delete it and you can always retrieve it out of your apps.

PS. Have you downloaded the full manual from HTC? It is definitely worthwhile to read through it. PPS. Another vote for CalendarPad here! Last edited by wayrad; 01-25-2011 at 03:12 PM. |

There are tons of ways to do this on the Android platform.
You have a max of 7 home screens. So you can deicate each home screen to an type of app. Also like another poster mentioned you can create folders and place apps in the folders. Some launchers like ADW Launcher have the ability to create application categories. I don't know what the limit is on categories and how many apps you can store in each category, but it is pretty large. I use the combination of the first and third method. Quote:
I know the "Agenda Widget"(free) can display one calendar per widget or display them all. You would have to create a different calendar for each view, like multiple google accounts, Facebook, or local calendar. Not an optimal solution but doable. If you do find a solution that works as you described I'd like to hear about it. |

I think the number of home screens you have (and you can tell by dragging your finger right or left on the one you see) is based on your launcher. I'm not sure what the stock launcher is, but I know people use lots of different ones. I've changed to Launcher Pro, available free in the market, and it lets me choose, under preferences, anything from 1 to 7 home screens. (I use 3 right now.) If you have any trouble making it open, you can download ANOTHER app
![]() Edited to add: I use the different home screens to organize my apps. The "tools" such as Smart Ruler, Color Flashlight, Camera, Calculator, Barcode Scanner, etc., I put all on one screen. My main screen has the stuff I use all the time: Market, Calendar, Calorie Counter, Maps, ColorNote, a shortcut to my favorite Weather page, and my Yahoo mail. The third one is for random stuff that I may or may not decide to keep on a home screen. A lot of apps I don't put on a home screen at all. If I don't use them often it's less cluttered to just open the apps screen and get them from there. Last edited by bjones6416; 01-25-2011 at 09:32 PM. Reason: 7 screens available, not 3! duh! |

You already have seven home screens with HTC Sense (which is what HTC calls their launcher and other tweaks to stock Android). Pressing menu/Scenes will offer you several presets for how to customize them, but you are not restricted to these. Icons, folders, and widgets can be removed by dragging them to the bottom of the screen (as someone already described) or added as has been mentioned. You can also drag them from one screen to another (difficult to describe, but you'll see if you try it). So it's just a matter of deciding on an arrangement that is convenient for you to get to things you use most frequently.
There are other launchers that can be used to change the look and feel, but it would probably be best to familiarize yourself with Sense first. It is often considered to be one of the better of the manufacturer-specific Android interfaces, and might suit your needs just fine. Last edited by wayrad; 01-25-2011 at 10:00 PM. |
