Color me confused.
The problem is that you have to set up and go through the Sony software to read books on the Sony, whereas you can load directly onto Pocketbook 360. I couldn't uninstall it according to their instructions (on an iMac) and there is just no reason for all that. You still have to use Adobe for DRM books from the library, and that's enough. The fewer steps between your device and the content, the better. The Kindle seems to be the best quality for the price, but as everyone knows the sticking point is that you can't use the public libraries with the Kindle (not legally at least). I wish they'd fix that. In fact, why don't they (Amazon) take the bull by the horns and set up a LENDING program? Ok, they would probably charge for it, but that might be the solution to the huge problem of the exorbitant unjustifiable prices of ebooks. I bet they're considering it, because it's a good idea.

Sorry, but this is just not true!!!

You can EITHER
use the Sony Software

OR use ADE

OR use Calibre

OR Drag and Drop

your books to your Sony device.

Also you can download Library books using the Sony Software as well as ADE.

Ok, maybe I misunderstood, sorry. I returned it because it was skipping pages so I have no way to check. The advantage over Kindle is obviously that you can read library books, but that is true of everything, apparently, except Kindle. Why doesn't someone take my idea above, run with it, and become the Mark Zuckerburg of ebook libraries?
