Sony 950 can browse the web using WiFi but not 3G. At least that is what someone posted in another topic. I have no idea if it is easy or how well the browser works.
I did get to play with the K3 browser this past week while traveling and was surprised by how easy it was to use and that it was relativly fast. I would not want to use it on a regular basis but it was a nice back up to have. |

The new Nook arrived, I've been waiting it for so long. But not only it doesn't have improved web browser; it has no web browser at all! How's that possible!?
Since it runs Android, is it possible to install a web browser? |

The Kindle browser would be better with a touch screen, but for the kind of stuff it's intended for, I find it quite useable, and it's kept me from needing a smartphone or tablet with a paid 3G data plan.
I use it for stuff like Gmail, Google, downloading books, and sometime MR and the like just about everyday. It's an amazing free bonus feature, especially with free 3G, and as far as I know Kindle is the ONLY eInk device that offers anything close to that. In the OP's case, I think I'd recommend either waiting a few generations of tech, or getting both an eInk reader and tablet, and a case that could fit both. |

Most common devices like Nook, Nook Color, Kindle, etc ... are "locked", or in other words, what you see if a software presentation to the user and that cannot be modified (not easily). There is a way though, and it's "rooting" the device. Rooting is the ability to run Android or Linux with elevated privileges so that customized presentation can be altered or in some cases, even improved. Of course, that will void you warranty immediately and there are chances that some existing features will be gone, like B&N in-store reading. eink devices are not Android tablets so it's not as simple as adding or removing a browser. |

Any word on what the next Kindle will be? Will it finally utilize Mirasol or Pixel Qi display? Or maybe color E-Ink?
Also, can someone provide step-by-step instructions on how to root the new Nook and install a decent web browser on it? |

I've done colossal research on ebook readers and found out that the most feature-rich devices are Pocketbook 603/903, Onyx International Boox M90 and the Nook Simple touch reader. Correct me if I'm wrong...

New Nook Touch and web browser
The new Nook Touch has a "hidden" web browser. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1lUgnAP38Q
Otherwise, you can root it and use it like any other android tablet and install your own (better) browser, games, etc... |

Yeah, I want to buy the Nook Simple Touch, but Barnes & Noble said to me that they do not ship outside US. How narrowminded...
Any idea how to buy it within EU and not from Ebay ? |

Why did you buy a Nook Touch if your primary requirement was for a good web browser?
