I put in my trouble ticket a few weeks ago, and since taking my kindle out of the cover have had no freezes or reboots.

Amazon CS just called and offered me a full refund, plus a $25 promotional credit to upgrade to the lighted cover. I just promptly ordered one.

This time in burnt orange to make it harder to misplace - nothing like glancing in the back seat of a car or cab and not noticing you're leaving you kindle behind because the black cover blends in with the darkness.

I received the lighted cover for Christmas and it has reset itself once, the light was in use at the time. So it happens with the lighted cover as well.

Sadly, I have to report that I've had a couple of reboots while using the lighted cover Amazon sent me. One happened while I was putting the cover on the Kindle. Being that the replacement cover hasn't cured the freezing/rebooting issue, and it's heavier/bulkier than the non-lighted cover, I've decided to use my Kindle without a cover until I can find something else that I like.
