It does hurt to be skipped even though I know it wasn't intentional.

Don't feel so bad. At least you already managed to get a free Webscription the last time they were offered, if I read the linked thread in the OP correctly.

Pity the poor newbies who've been hoping for ages. For them it starts out , then turns to or , with diminishing chances of the further down the line they are.

Well I'm not going to brood endlessly about it but knowing the only reason I missed out was because someone didn't pay attention when scanning over the posts in the thread and went right past me to the next person does sting a bit. I mean I posted at 11,30,32 and 41 (post 11 being just after Eric) and just before RavenKnight and even when I pointed out I'd been skipped I still got skipped again. Hence my bold comment, with perhaps typing in caps as well if/when I should join the line again.

I'm not whining about it. In fact if you were to re-read the post you would see where I said I wasn't going to endlessly brood on it. I was just responding to someone else's posting which is totally different. There is a difference between whining as you referred to it and responding to others comments. Of course I should have expected you to put in your own two cents I suppose since you were the poster after me. I hadn't intended to post any more about it but being accused of whining about it rather puts me on the defensive so to speak. That said, don't bother wasting electrons in the thread to further the discussion. I'm not going to play that game.
