I concur, Sony Web Programmers are morons. They did quite a mess about a month ago in Germany with the same story, in the middle of the launch mind you !

The black 650 is available for me (viewing from Europe) on the US web site now.

the manager in my local waterstones is finding out what is up, but she thinks it is that they can't get anymore stock before xmas and so it's being pulled from the websites.

Just looked this morning

I just checked it out again this morning, and they are listing both (red/black) as being in stock and shipping as of 12/9/10. I ended up getting the red one because while they were on sale (online) they ran out of black (I called 3 weeks ago when my hubby was getting mine). They told me that the sale would end before they got more black in and that if I waited I couldn't get the sale price (not the most helpful people in the world) . Color was not that important to me so I ordered the red.

(I love it and now I just have to figure out how to sneek it back into the box and re-wrap it before he notices)
