LatexSalesMan, I am curious, your pictures show no skin above the buttons before the screen, on the menu options section. Did yours not come with that section of skin or did you choose not to put skin there?

ETA - Nevermind, I've found the answer. The 950s don't come with skin there for some reason, even though the 650s and 350s do. Not a big deal, but I would've definitely preferred the skin to go there as well.

I just receive my radiosity skin from Decalgirl, i must admit that it's not that easy to install! in fact, i did a bad job at the top right hand corner but it's nice (not perfect as i would like everything I do to be) , very beautiful skin ! But i have an issue, i tried several time to put the wallpaper in the appropriate folder of the reader, where the others were but it does not want to display when i put my reader in sleep mode.... How did you manage to make it work?

I have installed many DecalGirl skins but found that this one needed my wife's extra hand to hold the skin away as I lined it up with the right side and keys as my guide. With her help it went on easily.

I am really enjoying the look and feel of this skin on my reader and love DecalGirl as a company/product.

I want to be yor LatexSalesman!!!

I had exactly the same problem with my "skin" from Decalgirl -- the upper right corner has a wrinkle in it. But I like it (I got the Carbon skin).

Had no problem adding the Carbon wallpaper (from main screen, I went to Applications, Pictures, pressed the Option button, clicked Select Standby Screen, and checked the box for the Carbon wallpaper -- it's named sr95-carbon). Were you looking for those specific instructions? If so, I hope this helps.

Can you tell me how the skin feels, compared to the metal of the reader? And which finish did you get?

I got the word from M-Edge that they will soon update the covers for the Sony Daily Reader to fit the 950 model. Will wait for them, until then I am using the original Sony cover, I am very disappointed in the quality of it, it feels very cheap, made out of some sort of pleather material, especially compared to the super nice luxurious cover that came for free with the 900 model.

I figure I'll put this here, too:

The SonyStyle.com store is currently having a 25% off sale for all of its current reader cases. They have the red 650 cover (no light), as well as the lighted, unlighted, and zipper cases for the 950, and the pink and blue lighted and unlighted 350 covers. This sale is listed as going until the 15th.

For the rest of today (not sure if it's until a a particular time or time zone) they're having free shipping for delivery by the end of the 24th.

I would like to know the same too please. I am assuming that the matte is worth the $5 upgrade. I haven't had time with holiday shopping and preparations to spend much time searching through the designs yet but I have a few options narrowed down...

If you guys are willing to wait a few weeks, I will give my review. I'm getting a nook normal shiny skin for my sister which will be here tomorrow, and the matte skin design for my 950 is being made, after which I will look at it and then probably order it, so it will be awhile before I get mine. Then I can compare the two and let you all know. Unless someone else comes round first.

Can anyone with the Sony brand case for the PRS-950 (lighted or unlighted) post the dimensions of the closed case with the reader inside?

Sony's website cites 5.51 x 0.75 x 9.45 in. for the unlighted case. Surely the case doesn't add 1.5 inches to the height of the reader! To all appearances the case is nearly the same height as the reader.

I'm asking because I'm wondering if the reader+case will fit in a sleeve I've already purchased.

Unlighted case with 950 in it:
8 1/8 inches tall
5 1/4 inches wide
just shy of 3/4 inches thick at the spine, 5/8 inches thick at the edge
