This is the first time the sequels are on sale in the US. For Kobo, use coupon PARTNERS22 for 40% off. (Be sure to purchase each book separately as the coupon works on one book per cart).

Here's the summary of the first book:
I bought all 3, thanks for the recommendation, a shame the sale offer was not for non-us users.
Just finished the first, liked it a lot, quite a different angle from most in this piece of the Fantasy cake

Psst.. I'm a non-US user. You can create a new account and/or change your region on Amazon.com

I want to read this series because I heard of similarities to Discworld's undead.

It's amazing what technology allows us to do. One of my tablets is simultaneously in Japan and my Bedroom in the US.

The Pariah by Anthony Ryan is $2.99 at all the usual suspects.

Here is a link that goes directly to the book's page on the Orbit/Hachette website. Pay no attention to the fact that the URL is positively Lovecraftian in its construction.

2 of the nice Gollancz omnibus editions are in today's Daily Deal:

The Great Dune Trilogy, by Frank Herbert is 99p
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Great-Dun...5400977031_1_1
This comprises an omnibus of Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. Note that previously the Gateway SF collection of the 6 novels was a previous deal.

The Books of Earthsea, by Ursula K LeGuin is 99p
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Books-Ear...5400977031_1_6
Stories include: 'A Wizard of Earthsea', 'The Tombs of Atuan', 'The Farthest Shore', 'Tehanu', 'Tales From Earthsea', 'The Other Wind', 'The Rule of Names', 'The Word of Unbinding', 'The Daughter of Odren', and 'Earthsea Revisioned: A Lecture at Oxford University'

Sadly, the hardcovers aren't in the deal!

I just copy and paste. All you have to do is click on it. The alternative is just do a search in your Amazon account. Also, I just copy and paste Amazon and Kobo but the deals might be available at other sources like Google books, ebook.com, Barnes and Noble. So check those if those are your preferred distributors.

I do clean up URLs I post. Amazon is the worst offender. They have so much rubbish in the URL that's not needed.

There are worse problems than a lengthy URL. I don't get fussy about it myself. Just click on it if I'm interested in the book, if not, move on.

Plus not everyone is sure what parts of the URL are and aren't important. Here's the Hachette URL:

Quote:
https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/anthony-ryan/the-pariah/9780316430777/?lens=orbit&utm_source=email&utm_medium=newsletter &utm_campaign=the-pariah&utm_content=deals&utm_source=Orbit+Books&ut m_campaign=2242acfa53-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_06_08_03_05&utm_medium=email&u tm_term=0_6c93217b9e-2242acfa53-62314325&mc_cid=2242acfa53&mc_eid=1764c84e1d
Everything starting with the ? is junk in this one, but that's not always the case. I've seen sites that put the unique ID in a string after the ?.

Now look at an Amazon one:
Quote:
https://www.amazon.com/Eric-Discworld-Unseen-University-Collection-ebook/dp/B00GU32WNY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3AQ9C1DHV534B&keywords=eric+pratch ett&qid=1654552106&sprefix=eric+pratchett%2Caps%2C 228&sr=8-1
Here everything starting with ref= is junk. Is that obvious to someone who doesn't understand how URLs work? No. When cleaning up a URL I always test it first to make sure the site's not doing something funky and requiring part of the URL that looks like junk. I do that even though I understand how URLs work. What chance does someone who doesn't understand them have?

On the Amazon one, you could also delete:

But yeah, I'm with you. I'd rather sloppy but working URLs be shared than being afraid to post because it doesn't meet someone else's high standards.

Crossposting from the dedicated thread:

This months free ebook from Arc Manor/Phoenix Pick is Farewell to Yesterday's Tomorrow by Alexei Panshin.

Quote:
A beautiful collection of stories from Hugo and Nebula winning author Alexei Panshin. He is the author of the iconic classic, Rite of Passage and (with his wife, Cory Panshin) of the landmark study of science fiction, The World Beyond the Hill which won a Hugo award.

The Sunday Oregonian, writing about the collection, state "A remarkable collection. On the surface, each story as a unit appears to be completely different, yet all of them are part of a whole, contributing to the development of a central theme–thoughtful and provocative and, best of all, beautifully written."
They also have four of his books on sale, including an option to buy all four for $6.99. (One of the books is a three novel omnibus as well, so it's six books worth of reading total.)
