Just got home from my nephew's house, where I had a cup of "Kenyan tea." That's all I know about it -- they went to Kenya a few months ago and were served this loose leaf tea everywhere they went, so brought some home with them. It's a strong black tea -- very good.

I tried to say Happy New Year to everyone with karma but I ran out.
So Happy New Year. My Husband and I just finished off the last bottle of wedding champagne in the hot tub. Hopefully 2011 brings us a baby. I think I am going to go work on that. (winks) |

![]() There's no place like home. ![]() Came in the door, plugged in the hot water pot, stood next to it until it beeped at me, filled my OWN mug with East India Company's Royal Breakfast tea (yeah, I know... It's almost 19:25) and I can smell it steeping. Ready now. Bye. Tea uber alles. Stitchawl |

![]() It was as if Murphy's apprentice was trying his hand at messing things up for us every single step of the way, but just falling short. Nothing absolutely 'bad,' but just about everything requiring an extra step to make it very good. And it was very good, even including getting involved in the three day delay because of the storms in the NorthEast. That was one of Murphy's assistant trying to mess things up, but we managed to find some new great resteaurants, see sights we'd not planned on seeing, meeting fine folks, getting in some Keys motorcycle riding, etc., etc., etc. The only drawback was that it cost us more than we had planned to spend, but at least we didn't have to sleep on airport floors and wait in lines for those three days. We did see families camped out all over the airport. (Although the security line at Miami International was outrageous, with 3-4 hours waits, somehow we got picked to bypass the waiting and were taken to a different security location with about 20 other people. I still have no idea why, but I'm not complaining! It's not like we were in a hurry. I planned four hours to clear the airport, just in case. Instead we sat in the lounge, drank tea and read! THAT'S what I mean about Murphy's assistant 'trying but failing.') My wife said that if I ever were to fall into a pile of horse manure, I'd probably surface with a twenty dollar bill stuck to my nose! ![]() Stitchawl |

For the Tea Drinkers in the US:
https://www.lupiciausa.com/ Lupicia Tea has a fun deal on New Years Day. They sell grab bags of tea. Each bag is suppose to hold more then twice what it costs in tea and tea goodies. I bought two bags last year and had a lot of fun with them. I got some nice tea infusers and some nice teas. I enjoyed most of the teas I got in my bag but not enough to make them one of my go to stores. I did order a $30 and $50 bag again this year. Call me a sucker but it is fun opening surprises and what is better then a bag full of tea surprises? |

I have finished the two batches of "standard" green teas samples from Japan and China.
Verdict ![]() ================================================== ======= Green teas from Japan were represented by (too official yeah?): Code:
Bancha Bancha Houjicha Genmaicha Kokeicha Sencha Uji (organic) Sencha Yamato Sencha Uji is outstanding. I have ordered and received 2x100gr bags of it. ================================================== ======= Green teas from China: Code:
Bi Lo Chun China Sencha Dragon Well Gunpowder (organic) Large Leaf Green Mao Jian (organic) Pine Needle Temple Of Heaven White Monkey 2 teas I really liked and they are my favourite besides Sencha Uji, which is simply different and cannot be compared with. Dragon Well and White Monkey Mao Jian that is probably the most famous and Bi Lo Chun that is supposed to be one of the best didn't impress me more than: good green teas. On to the last batch ![]() ....to be continues.... |
