Well, since I finished the "Long Goodbye" sometime in July, i started "The Guns of August". Interesting, but a bit dry so I also started David Weber's "On Basilisk Station". After a very slow start (for me), things are picking up. I'm a bit more than 1/2 way through and it's turning into a page turner. I may have to read more of this series.

A good collection. I definitely prefer the first half to the second, but all good.

Now for something a friend recommended. Dissolution by C. J. Sansom.

A Tudor murder mystery. It sounds like a good read.

Re-reading Lynsay Sands' 'Vampire, Interrupted.' The whole series is pretty hysterical. From a vampire who's afraid of blood and passes out because of her phobia. To another whose world gets turned upside down because he has to help with his brother's wedding. LOVE IT!

I've got volumes 4, 5 & 6 of the Sookie Stackhouse books lined up next. I might take a break and read something else in between, that's a lot of Southern vampire stories to read in one go.

Sounds a bit like theQueen Betsy books (Undead and ...)

I could use a little humour today. It looks like Vampire, Interrupted is no. 9 in a series. Can I read this or should I start with no. 1?

Just finished _His Majesty's Dragon_.. I enjoyed this book. It was well done and much different from the normal dragon fare.

Next I'm off to read _The Long Goodbye_ for the book club.

Glad you liked his His Majesty's Dragon Bob. The first couple of books in the series are very rewarding. Unfortunately the last book fell a bit short.

Upon re-reading I felt no. 3 was a little bit of a slog. Then it picks up very well in no. 4, no. 5 is okay to fine, and 6 is so-so with a somewhat weak story.

Reading "The Overton Window" by Glenn Beck. Politics, predictable. Seems like it may be a good "Government conspiracy-Thriller) though.

Sounds great, I'll definitely check it out.

I'm reading "The Dark Lord of Derkholm" by Diana Wynne Jones. So far it's a fun and funny read.

Reading a financial book from the library, which is okay, and a novel from Smashwords (Radium Halos) which is excellent.
