The complaints I saw were about typographical errors and those were from years ago.

It was true of my printed copy which went along with all of the other books I had some years ago. Anne talked about this herself as fans who knew the books by heart commented on missing paragraphs. Since I bought individual titles in ebook, I have nothing to compare. It was just a heads up.

I haven't done a side by side comparison or anything, but I looked in the White Dragon and was able to find a couple of scenes where Ruth is telepathically 'along for the ride' as Jaxom is having sex - I figured those would be the most likely parts to remove if you were trying to make the books more kid friendly. Those scenes are in the omnibus. I also looked around at reddit and sffworld to see if I could find any mention of missing text, and couldn't find anything (although the SFFWorld conversation talked about the poor editing in the printed omnibus). The conversation was from 2012, maybe too early? I've reread the series a couple of times since getting the kindle omnibus; if there's anything missing it's pretty negligible.

This is a series I'm really enjoying, and the first book is 99cents on Amazon. I'm reading all three on my KU subscription. Alex Fossor is a Necromancer. No one likes Necromancers, and the 'Secret Society' in charged of the 'Versed' won't even let them be trained or mentored. They always end up breaking all the rules, they're dark people, so who wants them around?

But while Alex is human, untrained, and makes mistakes, he's a nice guy. And fiercely loyal to those he cares for. This is a Dark Urban Fantasy, so a lot of ugly things go on. He makes his living making dead bodies 'go away' in the criminal world. I like the way Alex's story and history unfold, as we get thrown deeper and deeper into the world building. And I like the alternate look at Death Magic, as more a natural part of the cycle, rather than all Dark Evil.

I'm at the tail end of #3, and have enjoyed them.

Marvel Classic Novels - Spider-Man: The Venom Factor Omnibus by Diane Duane is $1.99 at Kindle US and other outlets. This contains the trilogy of Spider-Man comic tie-in novels The Venom Factor, The Lizard Sanction, & The Octopus Agenda, originally published from 1994-1996. It's an enjoyable standalone story that's worth reading if you like other Marvel novels or are a fan of Diane Duane's original fiction or other media tie-novels.

That cover though, yuck. I thought it was a bootleg, it's so poor.

They're using Chaykin's artwork. Maybe rework the cover from the graphic novel version, also published by a Byron Priess company.

That graphic novel cover's pretty nice!

There's so many ebook covers that are total crap nowadays. Sometimes even from the big publishers!
