Darn it! I've had another hemorrhage into my eye/retina. It has been almost a year since the last, and I hoped it would never happen again. I'm back to can't hardly see out of the right eye, which was my best eye. Darn it!

OMG. Blindness is one of my worst fears. Is this something that will clear up or can be fixed medically?

OMG DixieGal. So sorry to hear that. How does that sort of thing happen? And what can be done about it? My fingers are crossed for you, too.

Thanks y'all - I need the encouragement. I suppose this means eye surgery #11. I'm hoping that instead of an operation, that maybe it is small and they can put a shot into the eyeball. The stuff they use, avastin, sort of sticks to the blood and makes it settle into the back of the eye, where it can maybe be re-absorbed. It also sort of kills off the offending bleeding artery in there.

This sort of flies in the face of the common sense rule to keep pointy things out of your eye.

I'm just very depressed to be doing all of this again.

For most of my life I've fought with a condition called Pars Planitis that is "leakage" of white blood cells etc. into the Vitreous of the eye. It causes "floaters" and blurry spots/images in your visual field. For years I received steroid injections into my eyelid which helped reduce it temporarily. Fortunately my case is not very bad and I have decided to simply live with it without the injections.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I'm still waiting to hear back from the retina doc. One thing about it, there's no urgent rush to work on it. A bleed is a bleed, and the black spots just sort of lies there, barely moving. Sort of like looking at the world thru a red and black lava lamp.

Have you ever had a victrectomy? How did that go for you? I had 2 thus far on the left - one to wash out the vitreous and then one to scrape the vitreous loose from the scar tissue that grew into it. Right now, that is my "seeing" eye, and I had not realized how much the scar had re-grown and pulled my dyd out of shape until now, when it is again the "main eye." Everything is in curves and waves, but at least I can see out of it.

I know! I have been feeling stronger and healthier, lost 10 lbs, etc. Then boom, woke up Thurs morning to a terrifying rainbow of colors. (The hemorrhage was very pretty until it turned black.)
