Hi everybody!

I have a Kobo Wifi N289 (version 1.9.11) and seem to be having the dreaded forever "Updating your software" and "No books found" issues as well... I've tried all documented steps from this thread like Tibcsi above, so I would greatly appreciate the link for the image as well!

Awesome, thank you oh so very much David! I went from the doom and gloom of shopping for a new device (and very nearly buying one!) to having my old trusty one working as it should!

Now, back to reading!

"doom and gloom of shopping for a new device"! Most of us here seem to think that's the point of ereaders! You probably should make sure you never use a Glo HD for any length of time. You won't be able to go back.

Perspectives change when life gives you lemons... So my good old Kobo Wifi's my lemonade!

That Glo HD I picked up at the Indigo store was really sweet with the lighting and extra resolution & speed, I can't deny that!

One day, oh yes one day, she will be mine! Or whatever generation is out there when it's my turn!

Kobo reader upgrade gone bad
Hi, I have been reading past posts and I have an original Kobo Wifi that the upgrade has gone bad, just many of you have explained. Can anyone send me an old image of working software so that I can get my reader working again.

Oldkobo: Which version of the WiFi? There are three. The model number should be on the end of the device. It could be N647, N647B or N289. You need the correct image to get it working.

I had the problem with my Kobo WiFi and downloaded fix. Worked OK, but unable to read books as screen fades so unable to read pages. Have I done something wrong? or is there a way to make the screen readable?

Hello all,

I have a Kobo N647 that updated itself to 1.9.11, produced the 'no books found' behavior (constantly updated on start), and that I later managed to completely mess up (loads to 5 bars and crash).

Could I get a link to the firmware as well?

HI! I have more or less the same problem with my Kobo N647. I can´t register it or sync with the kobo desktop app I writed to kobo customer care and they told me to reset once and once.
After making several resets I´ve lost all the software incluiding in the ereader so I can´t sync or do anything.

I´ve readed that with the image of the firmware on a sd it maybe will Works again so davifor would you mind sending me this image?

PS: This are the last words from Kobo Customer Care:
“Otherwise, I'm sorry to inform you that the eReader reached the end of its useful life. There are forums that you can check that may contain additional information likely to find another way to solve. Rakuten Kobo us, we can not advise or support such solutions or paths.
You can also visit our shop and see the new equipment available to us or you can use your smart phone or your tablet computer as alternative equipment to continue to enjoy reading.”
