Poe and Doré

I found "Raven" on some blog (posted it to freebies). I liked that so much that I asked the guy if I could use the web page and convert it and got a flat out negative answer.

Weehl, I found out, that the poem plus more illustrations is available on PG, too. Unfortunately, their layout is pretty bad (first poem, then illustrations) I am putting Dorés illustrations in the right places right now and shaping things up (will probably take me a while) and will post asap.

I think it has been done the way it is in PG before, but I want the pics at the RIGHT places in text.

I'm working on:

American Standard Version Bible,
Young Literal Translation Bible,
Wycliffe New Testament,

All three to provide the basic text for ebook, probably without footnotes, and a simple TOC.

I'm also busy with Washington Gladden's series,about 15 books.

LRF format mainly. Others may follow (though probably not).
& even more coming up soon....

I have already posted the ASV in IMP format. I could make it in mobi if you wish. I have html sources that I created.

I'm very new at this and am working on a Mac (using Stanza to convert to Word format).

UPDATE: well, it turns out that two separate source texts I can find have similar typos. Most I'm pretty sure about fixing, but, just to be safe as well as complete, I found a used copy of the original collection in hardcover on Amazon and ordered it (it's from 1957--amazing, huh?).
UPDATE: Wow, I just received the hardcover original and I am so glad I waited. It seems that the on-line versions have many more errors than I thought. Even the first couple of paragraphs, which I thought looked fine, have several errors. These all seem to be errors of character recognition (maybe during scanning?). Anyway, I've begun working on this excellent story again.

I've just finished replacing 27 books in IMP format that I had previously converted using BD with new versions created using Nick's terrific Mobi2IMP tool. I just replaced the ones that had lots of illustrations - about half of the IMP books that I've uploaded.

I'm working on a fully illustrated version of Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper". I believe it's going to be beautiful but huge.

I'm still working my way through Henry James, but hope to finish all the available fiction in the next couple of weeks. Then I want to try something completely different, though haven't yet decided what.

I have posted a bunch of Jack London recently but I am only about one-half of the way through. I am still working on Practical Journalism.

Dickens: The Pickwick Papers

Spent the last several weeks thoroughly proof-reading Dickens' "Pickwick Papers" against a number of different printed and online sources (primarily my printed "Oxford Illustrated Dickens"). Hundreds of minor errors corrected as a result. Uploaded a new version for both Sony and MobiPocket.

The book is now in a pretty good state; if you have an older version I'd recommend download this version as a replacement.

Ok,the Bible versions seem too large for the reader.
It would take up too much time to load them into the reader, etc..
Plus, the Book software I have (book Designer) seems to work too slow (crash/takes like 5 minutes for a small change);
So I stopped the translation on older versions of the bible.

I started scanning Bartleman Frank's work. There currently are not many text documents about him,so it's all scan and OCR. The correcting of the OCR takes a lot of time...

I'm also in Charles Finney and R.A. Torray's work.

Most of it is christian literature, and biography; mostly meant for a small audience.
I figured my other 'love' is SF, but there are enough people doing SF already, which I can download and without effort read from this site.

I have converted my IMP sources to Mobi and then used Calibre to get to LRF. I posted the ASV New Testament. I do not have a Sony reader so I hope it is ok. If not please let me know what to fix.
