There are a number of cartoons that appear to be comedies on the surface. However, if you dig a bit you can see the horror underneath the humor.

An example is "Fraidy Cat" which is about a cat who has already lived eight lives, is now on his last life, and lives in a world where everything is out to get him. Worse, every time he says a number from one to eight, the ghost of that previous life comes back to "help" Fraidy which usually results in disaster for the poor cat. Even worse, saying the number nine (or a word that sounds like "nine") cause a cloud of death and destruction to appear and hunt down Fraidy with one purpose: to destroy him. His only hope is to run for his life until the cloud disappears.

What if movies actually reflected what the title of the movie is? 12 Angry Men is about 12 men who are furious over some issue and spend the movie raging over it until they become angry with each other and start fighting among themselves. Cars is just a movie that shows a series of cars that are not doing anything. Star Wars shows massive stars attacking each other. Frozen is a movie where nothing happens because everything is frozen solid.

That actually happened to me once, except in my case he said, "Take me to your ladder." He was a very little green man, and he wanted to be able to look me in the eye as we spoke.

One of the things that seems a bit confusing when it comes to punctuation is the comma and the quotation marks when you are writing the exact title. As an example, if you are writing a sentence and you need to put a comma after a quoted title, which would be proper?

He wrote the following song title "Mandy," a song recorded by Barry Manilow.

or

He wrote the following song title "Mandy", a song recorded by Barry Manilow.

In the first example, it would seem that the comma would be placed incorrectly since the name of the song is "Mandy" not "Mandy,".

In any event, in the US, it's inside the quotes. In the UK, it's outside the quotes. And if you're going to ask me why, don't. Just we in the US being assholes, I guess. ;-)

How would the world fare if it followed cartoon physics? As an example, there are people walking to work in the air because they haven't looked down. When an auto accident happens the car looks like an accordian, as to the passengers when the exit the car. When children are born, the girls look like small versions of the mother and the boys look like small versions of the father. The fastest construction projects work in time to the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, and no matter what is going on everything is in perfect time.
