I like Amazon's blurb / synopsis much better! I think the one on GR may even hurt Butcher and stifle interest in the series.

Which could happen if he gets wrapped up in his newest series, while there are still 6 or 7 more to write in Dresden.

How did he manage Codex Alera? Did not seem to slow the Dresden books down. If he alternates books and puts out two a year, wouldn't be too bad.

How many Cinder Spires books are planned so far?

Back then he wasn't traveling around doing promotions nearly as much as he does now, but that accelerated and even expanded to travel to Europe and Australia as his popularity grew.

The rights to 3 have been bought, but I've not heard him say a total number that have been planned.

A number of authors like to have a couple of series going so they don't get burned out on one or the other. David Weber does that.

Ah, right, the being famous part sucks. Keep forgetting that he wasn't in such good standing as he is now.

Maybe he keeps the total number under wraps - and sold his series: hey, let's do 3 and see after how successful and go from there. Unless he would get a better negotiating point after - and switch to highest bidder afterwards. I doubt he can pull off selling a 20+ series again when he still writes one. Longshot author only goes that long. He already beat the odds big time, no need to push his luck.

Yes, I do agree that it is beneficial and possibly faster than only writing one sereis at a time. That is if he can stay on track and only work on one book each and alternate. The other problem is that Jim said before that he got so many ideas that he could never write all in a lifetime.
