I've just discovered how to make the Sage seem as light as a feather - take it out of the case!
![]() I had the weird "ADE reauthorization" glitch happen, so needed to reboot, which required getting at the power button, which required taking the Sage out of its official case. Rebooting did fix the bug, AND left me feeling like the Sage was a featherweight after several weeks of reading with the case on |

The battery is also probably the worst battery I have ever encountered on an eink device, also. But no dramas, I don’t mind charging it every day or so.

And the 2017 Oasis has no warm light. Better get a Libra 2. Much better screen, USB-C, warm light, 32 GB storage. A bit more expensive, but you'd be getting a lot more for that money.

I'm seriously thinking of getting a Libra 2 now. I have gotten used to my Sage, but with a 2 week break from home coming up, the idea of a more compact reader that doesn't need charging every 5 minutes is becoming ever more appealing. Do you know if anyone has posted a photo of a Libra2 on top of a Sage, to show the size difference (for jacket pocket purposes)?

Out of curiosity, how are you managing to need to recharge every 5 minutes? Even with the frontlight set to 100%, WiFi forced on with a FTP session doing large file transfers and an SSH session just to monitor, I don't find recharging every 5 minutes to be needed much less necessary.

I had already decided I would buy a Sage; however, given the battery issues, surely Kobo will soon produce something as a remedy or replacement. Thus, I'll wait a while and keep enjoying my KA1.

The power cover is meant to be the remedy. Obviously they knew about the Sage battery life before it was released, there's no other reason for that charging cover.
