There's a new Thraxas book out: Thraxas and the Oracle

Only £2.99 at Amazon UK at the moment. I don't know if that will be the regular price or is an introductory price.

Highly recommended fantasy series by Martin Scott. The series is now self-published, but earlier books were published by Baen and others.

Looks like Amazon U.S. kept PARABLE OF THE SOWER on sale again today, and now it's only .99 cents.

Ratha's Creature by Clare Bell (The Named Book 1) is Open Roads daily deal for fantasy today $1.99 in the US.
I have vague positive memories of reading this long ago and since there are several sequels it must have been ok.

https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/eb...a-s-creature-4
https://www.amazon.com/Rathas-Creatu.../dp/B00J52FOG4

A mysterious race of prehistoric cats harnesses the power of fire to protect their tribe in an evocative coming-of-age story that blends magic, fantasy, and nature.

The Clan of the Cave Bear meets the Warriors series in book #1 of Clare Bell's saga of the Named.

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe is the second in the Hitchhiker's Guide series by Douglas Adams. It has recently dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US, no idea why or for how long.

link: https://www.amazon.com/Restaurant-Un.../dp/B001ODEQCU

Spoiler:
Quote:
"DOUGLAS ADAMS IS A TERRIFIC SATIRIST."
-- The Washington Post Book World

Facing annihilation at the hands of the warlike Vogons is a curious time to have a craving for tea. It could only happen to the cosmically displaced Arthur Dent and his curious comrades in arms as they hurtle across space powered by pure improbability--and desperately in search of a place to eat.
Among Arthur's motley shipmates are Ford Prefect, a longtime friend and expert contributor to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Zaphod Beeblebrox, the three-armed, two-headed ex-president of the galaxy; Tricia McMillan, a fellow Earth refugee who's gone native (her name is Trillian now); and Marvin, the moody android who suffers nothing and no one very gladly. Their destination? The ultimate hot spot for an evening of apocalyptic entertainment and fine dining, where the food (literally) speaks for itself.
Will they make it? The answer: hard to say. But bear in mind that the Hitchhiker's Guide deleted the term "Future Perfect" from its pages, since it was discovered not to be!

"What's such fun is how amusing the galaxy looks through Adams' sardonically silly eyes." -- Detroit Free Press

Nonsense, commerce must go on! Why we'll just build a restaurant that experiences the end repeatedly. Oh, and talking cows, need some of them too...

Couldn't resist that price, even added the audible for $5.99. Officially the most I've ever paid for an ebook, but this one I'll actually read/listen!

Those Who Hunt the Night by Barbara Hambly (James Asher Novels #1) is $1.99 in the US as one of Open Roads daily deals

https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/eb...hunt-the-night
http://www.amazon.com/Those-Night-Ja...ews/B004TC149Q

Former spy James Asher hunts down a serial vampire killer in Edwardian England, in bestselling author Barbara Hambly’s thrilling historical urban fantasy.

Once a spy for Queen Victoria, James Asher has fought for Britain on every continent, using his quick wits to protect the Empire at all costs. After years of grueling service, he marries and retires to a simple academic’s life at Oxford. But his peace is shattered one night with the arrival of a Spanish vampire named Don Simon Ysidro.

Don Simon can disappear into fog, move faster than the eye can see, and immobilize Asher—and his young bride—with a wave of his hand. Asher is at his mercy, and has no choice but to give his help. Because someone is killing the vampires of London, and James Asher must find out who—before he becomes a victim himself.

X-link to the DRM-free megathread for some new bundles:

The Story Collection Bundle from StoryBundle contains single author short story collections with contributions by many award-nominated and -winning authors known for their science fiction, fantasy, and horror, including Elizabeth Hand, Kathe Koja, Walter Jon Williams, and more. This is a really good deal if you happen to like speculative fiction in the short form, as the authors have included many of their actual award-nominated/winning stories, and the top-tier is a low $12 for 8 collections with at least a half-dozen stories each, and the C. C. Finlay collection even includes author's notes.

Also, there's another sfnal retro RPG guidebook offering from Bundle of Holding.
