When do you see the $40 gift card?
Are you talking about a straight $40 or do you have to sign up for the store card, which I get offers of $30 off all the time, just don't want another credit card. The only thing I have been offered is the payment plan option, which isn't bad, like $22 a month interest free. As a PW1 owner, they just didn't do enough for the $100 upcharge for me. Make the screen just a few inches larger, add a real web browsing experience, something. I don't mind paying for a premium product, I just can't justify another $100 for a bump in DPI. Also, now that my state adds sales tax, and it isn't shipping until mid November, I am really lukewarm on it. |

I'm planning to get Kindle Voyage but now don't know which cover to buy:
- Amazon Leather Cover $60 most expensive: I don't know if the leather is easily broken down after a while of use like my honey paperwhite cover. - Amazon Cover $45: I don't know if it looks cheap, do it has good feel like leather. Actually It's hard for me to choose this one because it's not cheap. - Incipio Journal Cover link $30: This looks nice, cheapest but how do it feel? I do prefer this to Belkin. I like black, because I had bad experience with my colorful cover. It's difficult to choose. What do you guys choose? |

By the way I had decided that I will not buy the $45 cover because I've just watched a video of HDX cover which is not leather. It looks cheap and plastic and I don't like it more than the honey cover which is being worn out ![]() Now I have to choose between the $60 expensive cover or the $30 cover which is not from Amazon. But I have not decided to buy the Voyage. Maybe I will decide after I see it: Is the high resolution worth it? Is the text looks dark, crisp and real, not grey like on paperwhite. So frustrating cannot find any high resolution picture of the screen. |

My experience with the Kobo Aura HD suggests that the higher resolution really does make a difference. You're not looking at pixelated fonts any more; you're ogling the luscious shapes of letters. Reading on the Aura HD for the first time was like studying a work of art at MoMA. I couldn't get over the purity of the curves.

I think the interface on the nook is the most of B&N's problems as far as the device goes. The nook works with ePub from other places so if the interface had been good and the memory not fragmented, it might have sold better.

On cnet's preview video of the Voyage, it mentions that it has a 1Ghz CPU and 512MB ram. That is double the ram of the Kobo H2O, which also has 1GHz cpu. I've seen the Kobo HD/H2O handle complex PDFs with just 256MB ram, so I wonder if the Voyage can do better or if it needs that extra ram for other reasons.

According to above article h2o also has 512mb ram. If you search YouTube you can get some ideas of how the kobo handles PDF . I suspect it's slightly less agonizing because of marginally better software and bigger screen. If you really need to read PDF and don't to spring for an expensive large e ink device, buy any decent tablet. |

I know you do -- I just don't share your opinion. And I definitely don't think the Nook Simple Touch sold badly -- at least not until B&N seemingly stopped trying with their whole Nook division.
