I am about 60 miles west of Dallas, but I am getting concerned, but not panicking. When more catch it, or someone outside health workers, I'll panic.

I wasn't aware of that. That is a concern!

10,000 people a month in Africa coming down with it....there's no way to contain that. If I recall from the book I read, a change of season can make the spread die down.

Well it may have spread past Dallas after the latest news. A second nurse has it and she flew in to Cleveland the day before she came down with a fever.

The reports coming from the nurses is scary! The protective gear was not adequate with skin exposed and waste piling high with no one taking care of it. No prior training to handle Ebola. My heart goes out to these nurses who will probably all come down with it. Breach in protocol my foot. There was no protocol. The CDC is doing nothing till it's too late.

Actually the nurse had a low grade fever while on the plane. And as per rules she shouldn't have travelled at all (another black mark on that hospital for not better educating the nurses). I think that hospital was ill prepared for this. It showed by releasing the first patient even though he mentioned being in Liberia. They had too many people caring for Duncan also, instead of using a limited amount of people who are better trained.

I think these cases are better left to hospitals with more experienced staff.

I was giving the hospital the benefit of the doubt at first, but now I think they choose to hope it wouldn't happen to them and buried their heads. I'm not talking about those on the front line, but the admin.

Well, mrscoach, I can feel your pain. I live in Madrid (Spain), quite near of the town where the nurse with a case of Ebola (20 km more or less).

The hospital claimed their staff was prepared when they obviously were not. It's not that the CDC is doing nothing, one of the biggest problems is many hospitals don't want the CDC telling them what to do.

That's just it. The CDC is there to keep this from spreading they should have never taken a word for it and had someone monitoring the patient's treatment at all times. They could have seen what the nurses wore and skin was exposed and all that waste not being picked up. Instead they did nothing but let some hospital who was unprepared to handle one of the most deadliest virus known to man.
