I finished the last book of The Chicago Vampire series. It was bad and a complete Disney rip off it was like this.

25% character romance arc. 70% cheese and 5% wrap up. That's it 5% spent on two loose ties so she can do a spin off. So many questions not answered. The spin-off takes place many years in the future so no hope of this being fixed.
It was a huge let down.

That's so disappointing, especially when you are really looking forward to it. Sometimes I buy the last book in a series but then I don't read it because I'm afraid it won't live up to the rest.

I recently read Into the Fire, the last book in Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series and I was pretty disappointed in it. I should have expected it because the series had been getting more and more violent. The last book was mainly action and blood, not very much romance. At least most of the loose ends were tied up.

I just checked it out from the library, haven't started it yet. So is it the last in the series then? I just like to finish at this point. Don't know much about Disney but this series was so totally awesome and page turning for the first few books. I recommended it to anyone and everyone. But it just couldn't keep that going in later books. But I like to finish and shelf it.

There were so many story lines dropped, like the one with the lion guy, whats his name that runs the bar. I am so bad with names, real life and books.

It'll be a good book to read before bed then. I can't read anything too demanding then as I start getting drowsy. So I usually read some fluff then.

What kind of spin off will there be? I'll have to investigate.

Wait till you read the last before investigating. Huge spoiler the spin off lead character but it takes place probably 20+ years from the last series.

Also up to Shield of Winter in my complete Psy/Changeling series reread (chronological order). I've been rereading slowly, but basically just have the three long books left plus a few newsletter shorts since I'm rereading chronologically. I should finish in time for June 13th.

I just had to share with you this amazing book score I got today. These are all bodice rippers pre-fabio covers. All of Laurie McBain books and I got them for practically free. None of these are available in ebook except the Laurie McBain ones.

Looks like Harlequin now limits reward redemption for eBook codes to three now? I was just on there and found four books I wanted (was glad to see two new Paula Graves, probably the last we'll see since she passed away around the beginning of the year), but was only able to get three codes before the reward went "unavailable". I'm assuming it will reset tomorrow.

Did you try a different code? I had a few in a row that I was unable to redeem (it gave an odd error message with "unavailable" rather than saying the code was invalid). Customer service sent me replacement ones.

But I usually only buy at most three books in one day or I get locked out. Usually I stick to one or two.

I reached the reward redemption limit twice before and always find that it resets the next day.

I also think that the website has been delisting books. A lot of the Avon books are missing. I was trying to find When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James and an older Adele Ashworth book, both books that were listed there but are now gone.

The EJ book was recently reissued so it was probably removed because of that. I suspect it will be back with the yellow dress cover.

Oh, I've never tried to get more than 2 in one day. I've kept a running list of codes ever since they first confirmed they will not expire. My list had over 20 codes for a long while. It now has 9. So I only redeem codes when my list gets short.

I never do more than one redeem a day. One book bought a day. I too keep a spreadsheet of codes.
