I agree nothing worse getting half way through a book and realizing you are missing something that happened. It was this way for me with Virgin River. It's a spin off of the Grace Valley series.

Yes. Kind of sad that sites like GoodReads, FicFact, Fantastic Fiction, etc. often have better info than an author or publishers site.
