Can you believe it? More rain! We are clearly over 15 inches so far this month and it might be closer to 20. I'll have to check. Our back yard is only missing a heron and an alligator. Otherwise you'd swear it was a gulf coast marshland. Maybe I should look for tar balls from the BP spill (even though we're 60 miles inland).

My understanding of the difference between the two is pretty similar to Yvan's - a larder as I know it is a very small room/cupboard, preferably in the coolest part of the house, possibly with net covered vents (to help air flow but not let in flies), used for food storage. I've picked that definition of the word up from living with my nanna as a child - she was from Sunderland, and I know her sisters who remained up that way used it for that too. The main food use she put it to was storing vegetables, which is why I'd like one. She also had a coal cellar which fascinated and scared me in equal measure. I'm not sure when it was built, but I'm reasonably sure from what I can remember of it that it would have been post war
