Getting an error when fetching news with the latest beta. Earlier betas worked fine (although I skipped 11&12).
The error shows as keyerror 'base_font_size' and also displays the following....... Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\dialogs\scheduler.pyo", line 514, in check File "calibre\gui2\dialogs\scheduler.pyo", line 533, in do_download File "main.py", line 1085, in download_scheduled_recipe File "calibre\gui2\tools.pyo", line 166, in fetch_scheduled_recipe KeyError: 'base_font_size' Any ideas for a workaround??? Using windows vista. EDIT: Just checked....it's not working in beta 12 either. Last edited by pars_andy; 07-14-2009 at 03:42 PM. |

@kovidgoyal: b13 solved my problem with the covers/conversion of mobi files. Thanks for that, and for all the work you've put into this fantastic program!

Quick question that I didn't want to start a new thread for or pick apart epub files for - when I change metadata in calibre, does it modify the metadata in the ebook files, or just in the database? The function seemed a little bit like how iTunes modifies id3 tags, but I wasn't sure if the execution was the same.

Metadata changes get written to the database and initially do not change the files. They get written to files when you either run a conversion or send them to a device.

Just tried b13 and all of the bugs about the author names/dropdown list have been fixed. Thanks so much for all the work you're doing on this great software.

Hello Dr.Kovid
as we in germany would say and congratulations. Also thanks for the work on the software. I especially like the new feature to put the netadat on the first page. B13 works quite good. I have still some questions: 1. Was the author sort probleme solved? I still get the authors sorted on the author field not on the author sort field but maybe I am doing something wrong? (using the GUI) 2.) I am using tags and the series field. Now I reconverted all my star trek books (about 550) and retransfered them to an SD Card. I have all the books under the Tag "Star Trek" and have differnt numbered series (TOS, TNG, VOYAGER, Enterprise ...). When I transfer the books to the reader the series are totaly mixed in the Series view. I am only getting the correct numer of books in there but not the correct books. Bug or my fault? 3.) for some books (about 1%) I get an error when I try to convert them to LRF. When I remove the Option to insert the Metadata I can convert them. Thanks for your Help Thomas P:S Using Windows XP SP3 And the Calibre B13 with the GUI |

Thanks.
1) It should have been solved. If not, open a ticket for it. 2) I still have to look at this issue 3) Open a ticket and attch the source file as well as the exact settings you used for convesion |

I'd almost think that a 4 level approach might be appropriate in some cases like Thomas's:
Series: Star Trek Subseries: DS9 Subsubseries: Dominion War Volume: 3 I don't know how much of this is supported by the different metadata formats used by the different ebook formats though. |

When converting from mobi to rtf, the rtf file that is created only contains part of the book (it seems to stop at random points during conversion too)
