I find highlighting very easy to accidentally do because I tap for page turns, and if I'm off the tap spot so to speak then highlighting happens quite quickly.

And yes, when I purposefully want to highlight it's very responsive

I can't compare to your clara hd but i can say it's very responsive.

Yes, that was a typo: It's Libra 2.

Thanks.

I've ordered from their Ebay store for the Libra 2 Basic SleepCover to try them. We'll see.

That's good news, and it makes me feel a little easier about my order.

Thank you.

Cartas are much better, but to me, the light still makes the screen more contrasty.

Shipping, of course, will take only two weeks to Peru once my sister mails the package from the U.S.A. When it arrives, Customs will hold it for 5-6 months, assuming that it is not 'lost' during transit. Too, magic is very prevalent in this country and packages sometimes disappear. I've decided to notify Harry Potter if this happens. Or at the very least, Carnacki, if the magic is imbued with mysterious and occult properties.

The one thing i noticed about the Libra 2 is that it takes a long time to reboot. Sometimes it is like it is cycling on its restart process. The kind that makes you nervous. The Libra h2o did not do that in the old 4.28fw. I do not know if the latest fw makes the Libra h2o exhibits the same behavior.

That does happen for me as well. Sometimes, it reboots while it reboots. This can be seen by irregular power led blinking, progress bar (three circle animation) interrupting, sometimes with slight display corruption if it reboot in mid-display-refresh.

When I grab pid 1, I can fill ram (tmpfs) with data, and md5sum tmfps and filesystem in a loop, to stress cpu, storage, and test ram and everything is fine. It runs without error.

If I attempt the same whilst nickel is running, nickel crashes and bye bye reboot it goes.

Not sure what is triggering the instability, I have found no reliable way to reproduce any issue other than nickel itself randomly segfaulting and rebooting.

My device gave the appearance of rebooting during the initial set up process. I began to feel a little concerned because it seemed to reboot at least twice. But it finally finished setting itself up, and i haven't had a problem with it since.

I haven't turned the device off since it was set up, I merely touch the power button to put into sleep.

I was playing with the Reduce header footer height patches earlier today and updated the libra 2 probably 8 times in a row. The second to the last update after copying thr tgz file to the device, my libra 2 hanged after properly rjecting the device from the pc. It got stuck at the black screen showing usb connected. No other way but to press the power button. I was nervous it will be bricked but it rebooted (long time) and the patch was applied.

Prior to that after updating also, the libra 2 got stuck at rebooting over and over. I had to power it down and restarted it and it restarted fine.

Something is messing with its reboots. It just isn't normal.

BTW, the Reduce header footer height patch for the libra 2 isn't correct in the patch file settings. Not the dragon device but the one for the libra h2o is what works.

Of course you're joking, but I'm finally experiencing battery failure - when it's showing 30-45 percent or so of battery life remaining. (I get the dreaded exclamation point inside an image of an empty battery. I don't think batteries can be shipped internationally. However, it's perfectly fine when charged; that is, until it gets to those percentage marks.)

I do have my wonderful Oasis 3 (that I love), and my perfectly performing Kobo Aura One (that I'm somewhat tired of).

About that drawer where I should put my Kindle Voyage: What if it also contains my underwear and socks? I need some advice, Jon....

Just for context, can you clarify which device the batt problem is showing? I backtracked a bit and your post says you will receive your libra 2 in the first week of December.

Sorry, I'm referring to my Kindle Voyage.

(Now clarified in the original post.)

So far I've had one weird reboot once, while it was importing books I'd just sent over with Calibre (I'm sending them over in 500-book batches). It was importing them very slowly and at the halfway point it suddenly rebooted and was very slow at startup. I had to connect and disconnect it from Calibre to trigger the import process for the other half of the books I'd sent, and then restart it again to make the 'sluggishness' go away. After that it went cmpletely back to normal and following batches were sent and imported as quickly as expected.
