The Doors of Eden by Adrian Tchaikovsky is $2.99 on Amazon.com
Parallel worlds science fiction. Recent release.
Quote:
They thought we were safe. They were wrong.
Four years ago, two girls went looking for monsters on Bodmin Moor. Only one came back.
Lee thought she'd lost Mal, but now she's miraculously returned. But what happened that day on the moors? And where has she been all this time? Mal's reappearance hasn't gone unnoticed by MI5 officers either, and Lee isn't the only one with questions.
Julian Sabreur is investigating an attack on top physicist Kay Amal Khan. This leads Julian to clash with agents of an unknown power - and they may or may not be human. His only clue is grainy footage, showing a woman who supposedly died on Bodmin Moor.
Dr Khan's research was theoretical; then she found cracks between our world and parallel Earths. Now these cracks are widening, revealing extraordinary creatures. And as the doors crash open, anything could come through.

A collection of 10 stories (I assume the ones adapted for the show of the same name, but I haven't watched the show yet).
I've seen the show and it's excellent. Well worth watching.

Dancing guys and gals, so light on their feet! Wonderful costumes and great singing! And oh, how I love the choreography!

But, seriously: Yes, I agree with you.

Dragon Keeper By Robin Hobb $1.99 Amazon, Kobo and B&N
Fantasy - book 1 of Rain Wilds. Be sure to check your library. The omnibus for this trilogy was severely discounted in December 2019 so you might already have it.

This is set in the Lives of Tao world, and set after that trilogy.
I don't know if the original is required reading, but it definitely sets up the setting.

I did and I loved it. I found it very compelling and I love the concept (based on the mysterious, narrative retro-futuristic artwork of Simon Stålenhag). I'm hoping there will eventually be another season.

I've not yet watched Tales from the Loop. I'll have to give that a go sometime soon.
