And her first trip underground, the lowest but the most impressive. 3 years and half, pretty, assured and changing opinions, interests and priorities every day, and she has all the keys of my heart. Now she has heard the word concert and she wants to go to one. A true blonde.

The result is that to day I thought it was Monday and that screwed (is that a word that is admitted on these premises?) all my schedules, So I had an early lunch for my Monday duty at 12:30, while it was at 13:30 (like every Thursday). Typical of the profession, to have an empty head.

Good luck! I hope your surgery was successful. I wear two large behind-the-ear hearing aids (my hearing is too poor now for those little discrete in-the-ear units that I used to use) and I still can't hear my wife when she tells me to take out the trash!

Hearing is something we all take for granted. Don't. These days I have to crank up the volume controls just to hear myself play guitar. I know that my electric kettle plays "Fur Elise" when it boils but I can only hear two of the note frequencies. At least the tea that we make with it still tastes good; right now, a big mug of Yorkshire Tea to start the morning!

Second cup... This time Royal Breakfast! Still my #1 favorite!

Be careful with the empty tea bags. They seem to be available in different qualities. Some that I bought felt like coffee filter paper and others felt like soft silk. For me, the coffee filter paper type give a paper taste to the tea, sort of like Lipton's Tea. The soft ones don't seem to do that, and are the same price as the others. If you have an Asian market in your area, you should find them there, as well as ordering on line.

And now for something a little different, to go with our tea.

Books! (Imagine that in a book forum! .)

Some folks enjoy tea for the taste alone, others for the tastes and colors. I think many of us love the 'ritual' involved with tea as well. I know that I do. But I also enjoy the history of tea, the story of tea, or perhaps I should call it the Life of Tea. Here are some of the books that told me of that life;

“The Book of Tea” by Kakuzo Okakura
“The Book of Tea” by various authors (Great overview)
“The Great Teas of China” by Roy Fong
“Green Gold” by Alan Macfarlane and Iris Macfarlane
“The Harney & Sons Guide to Tea” by Michael Harney
“Liquid Jade” by Beatrice Hohenegger
“The New Tea Companion” by Jane Pettigrew and Bruce Richardson (Great overview)
”Tea: Aromas and Flavors Around the World” by Lydia Gautier (Great overview)

I'm back from the doctor, who said the magic words, "no change!" No change is good -- that means my hearing is as good today as it was after my ear healed up from the surgery, and that is a LOT better than it was pre-surgery. Thanks to all of you for the good wishes!!

Drinking some evil Celestial Seasonings Coconut Thai Chai.

It's wonderful that modern medicine can keep people hearing properly. I'm happy for you.

Now... I wonder what can modern medicine do about alleviating the need for Celestial Seasonings?

I'm just gonna call it "CS" now. Sounds classier.

Hey, I think I'll go fix myself another cup of CS Thai Chai!
