It works for me, but that might be because I have gmail pop3'ing into my email client, instead of checking it on the web. As far as I know, I haven't missed anything today, though.

Move out here! You could add your black-powder musket hobby to my RevWar hobby and we'd get along just fine! I bill myself as "the eternal gypsy" because I move-house about every 3 years. I just do it within the same town, so I've been at the same employer for 30 years!

So, is it the JOB or merely the house you are itching to leave, this time? I assumed the job, due to the Frick/Frack issues.

Yeah, the BAR (east coast organization for RevWar) doesn't like women in teh troops. Our mid-west organization (NWTA.com) doesn't object. Though you may be more familiar with Civil War time lines.

oh, it's the house I would be leaving. I'm in for the duration (I hope) jobwise. now of course, I could relocate in the big sense of relocation at some point of time (hope hope hope!)

and yes, I am MUCH more familiar with the Civil War era especially the weaponry!

Care to talk about what has you wanting to move this time? If not, that's ok.

no, it's no problem. 1. as you may or may not recall, I was supposed to have a roomie on this one, and while the landlord did reduce the price, I am still spending half my pay just on rent. 2. when I moved in there he had put wood chips all over the front and back yards (in an attempt at weed control I suppose, but that failed miserably). I sked him if he could get something else as a) the chips were drug in by both the dog and myelf and b) the wood chips (and he gets them from the dump ewwww!) are harbingers of flea colonies. he said he would think about it, but when I got home on Thursday one of his trucks was in the backyard behind my kitchen window full of chips (and it is still there). I'm just SO happy to fighting chips and fleas again. 3. the neighbors got their propane bill from the end of last spring/winter and it was $200 apiece. that seems extremely high. 4. he is cutting huge corners, has divided this house into 4 residences but is not paying taxes on it, and as he is avoiding everything official, we alos do not have individual meters, so I am paying the same power bill as my neighbors with their 4 HUGE salt water fish tanks. 5. he is losing his "lake house" so the property is beginning to look like a junk yard. there are 4 boats of various sizes, a couple of ski-doos, a bunch of motorcycles, everything from 150, to about 1200cc in various places around the property. the laundry room has a bunch of shelves, doors, shutters and other such crapola all over the place, my friends that are next door had to take stuff out of the storage shed (part of their rental agreement) so he can get even more of his crap in there. because of this, they will be leaving the first of November. their "apartment" and mine share a wall and I hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. I would INSIST on him soundproofing the wall better before someone else moved in and as he has already gone on at LENGTH as to how soundproof the walls are, I know that is a losing baattle.

I have a really really bad feeling about him losing that other house, kind of like he is being sneaky about stuff, and since he is being sneaky about this house being divided up.... well.... you know. women's intuition?

Krisk, I would certainly tell your manager that you don't want to make trouble for her, but... (significant pause.).
Is it hard to get alternative accommodation in the area? Could you try posting on a noticeboard at work and seeing whether anything better turns up?

Krisk, it's beginning to sound like a motor home might be the answer for you. That way if you get tired of the scenery (or the land/lot lord) you can just drive your house to a better camp site/trailer park/parking lot/rest stop, and don't even have to pack up, just batten down the hatches.

Or . . . maybe not.

As far as the frick (or was it frack) outburst . . . maybe tell your supervisor that you certainly don't wish to cause her any problems (blah, blah, blah), but this sort of incident is totally uncalled for and unacceptable, and you should not have to tolerate being treated in such a manner by a coworker; that he's creating a hostile work environment; that he should be reprimanded at the very least, and kept on a short leash with a choker collar, and if he approaches you a second time in that manner, you'll squash him like a bug and she can clean up the mess.

Or . . . maybe not.

It's so hard for anyone to really give pertinent advice on such matters when we're all sitting outside of the situation. We can all be Monday morning quarterbacks saying what you coulda, woulda, shoulda done, what you could or should do now, but in truth we'd have to be in your shoes or be a fly on the wall to make any valid judgements that would be of any real value to you.

The only advice that's always solid and all-purpose, although one of the toughest to follow in the heat of the moment, is to keep a cool head, take a deep breath and calmly walk away. Later, when you've got a clear head, you can weigh your options and decide what plan of action to take, and then

. . . squash him like a bug. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I am so seriously fed up with them today. fortunately I got over to ER this morning and initated the complaint. late yesterday afternoon I got a call from a customer saying that frick and frack had walked in their door, glanced around and said; "nope, can't do it, you gotta move the furniture." and walked out. I went to look yestserday, and all of the jacks are accessible from under the panels of the desks. you can't see the numbers, they aren't easy to get to, you need to get down on your back, but you can get to them. I reported this to my supervisor this morning and she had all of us go over there together. frick and frack were wandering around there " wawawawaw... move the furniture... wawawawa...". the supervisor basically changes my job description in the middle of the room... and ARGH! I'm just so angry and pissed and DONE with this!!!

and I sold my RV 5 years ago when my ex first got us into trouble... damnit!
