We may set a record today, supposted to be 100+ F

I'm cranking up the swamp cooler early today ---- as I did yesterday. Got to mid 90s but it kept the house down to 70....just about perfect as far as I'm concerned.

I guess there was a small Earthquake in Maryland/mid-atlantic region....

It's currently 84⁰F in Chesapeake with 84% humidity and a heat index of 96⁰. By 6 P.M. it's predicted to be 94⁰ and thunderstorming. The heat index will probably be into three digits by that time.

Again hot. This morning there was a light drizzle, but it did not do much. Wife has given me her old toughbook (yesterday she bought a Belkin wi-fi key), she has set up wi-fi at home, so that I am sitting under the wisteria, on a stone bench, I can smoke freely, consume MR (that's how Bob calls it) and just enjoy the summer, the Saturday with no chores. Cooking with this heat wave is very simple: cantaloupe at every meal, huge salads, for them cold cuts, for me fish or beans. Plenty of fruit. This is the time of bubbling wines in the ice bucket. Virtuous behavior. A gentle breeze is showing me the approval of the weather gods.

Ah, if just Ea's avatar would be here, I would put on my old Clark the Gable and romance ...

Well, we just tied the high temp record for this day - 101F as of 3 PM -- it may still be broken.

Hottest day in two years!

I'm hiding out in the basement where it is a reasonable 68F

omg it is hot. 105 with no clouds in the sky. I just got back a bit ago from spending 2 hours on the soccer field watching my kid.

I must have drank like 2 gallons of water.

They had a couple breaks. Today wasnt an actual game. It was the tryouts for the several different teams.

The boy did great.
