Yes, Neverwhere was very good I think (don't remember it very clearly though). Anansi Boys was OK but not as good as American Gods. He also wrote a book with Terry Pratchett that was very funny: Good Omens: The Nice And Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

I came back from the library with a rather thick book of Seneca's writings, plus The General of the Dead Army, by Ismail Kadare. Not sure how I'm going to carry both of those around, so maybe I'll keep Seneca for the evenings. Or try to find more of his works in e-book form. But I think I like the paperbook version better, because it has footnotes, which are a big plus when reading an author as old as Seneca.

Just started reading Native Guard: Poems by Natasha Tretheweh. It's very enjoyable, even though the thread that links most of the poems is death and loss. It was kennyc, I believe, who recommended it.

Have you read The Meditations of Marcus Aurelius? It really stands the test of time well!

No, I haven't. I'll try to remember that after I'm done with Seneca.

So, would you be interested in a philosophy thread?

Yes, it's a WONDERFUL book of poetry!

I subsequently picked up her other two books as well but have not started them yet.

I think a philosophy thread would be an excellent idea! Are you planning to start one? If you do, please PM me with the link or leave a Visitor's Message, as I'd hate to miss it!

I'll be sure to drop by the philosophy thread as well!

I just started reading "Magician" (Raymond E. Feist), it's a real page-turner.
