Oh! Huzza!!!
I actually remembered Doughnut Day on Doughnut Day! To commemorate the occasion I made a chocolate donut a la mode for each of you.

But, unfortunately, I've eaten them all.

You see I had to eat the first one to make sure they were all right and I had to eat the second due to some flaws in it's construction. And, well... the remaining eleventy-seven were just to tasty to resist.

They were really quite good...

I'm sure you would have enjoyed them...

What's not to like? An Entenmann's cake donut with that lovely, crisp dark chocolate frosting topped with a scoop of Dryer's chocolate ice cream, yum!

Now my sister, who likes chocolate, adds a dark chocolate Hershey's Kiss to the top and drizzles the lot with chocolate syrup. That is a bit much for me since I am watching my waistline (grow).

Well...

I started making more but discovered that they are really quite good for breakfast with a nice dark cup-a-coffee.

I've one left over that I am saving for elevenses (they keep well in the freezer for a short time).
