As Itimpi said. It could be a glitch caused by your setup or overall.

Always Tell us more:
OS type and version (if is 32 or 64bit),
Computer (mother board) info: Processor, RAM... We don't know if you are running on a Cray or a HP

Did it happen only when the reader is attached (or not). Brand and Model if this is relevant

Calibre runs on so many different platforms, that a odd interaction or two will happen. Kovid still has not gotten the Psychic plug-in to work yet, so we have to tell him about these issues and how to replicate them.

Ok here is more information I am running a 32 bit install which I just reinstalled hence the new problems. I downloaded the newest version of calibre. Added books to convert. Went to select all the books (for bulk conversion) by highlighting them with the cursor it would only allow me to highlight one book. At a time to convert. Same thing when I went to remove them from calibre I had to delete them one at a time. Reinstalled new version from website and same thing happened.

Did you hold down Ctrl or Shift while trying to select multiple books?

Try Ctrl as well, if you haven't already. That can be useful as well, if you're not selecting large chunks of books at once.

Aside from holding down the shift and ctrl keys you can still just slide down the page and grab a bunch by ensuring you are doing the slide in the book number column.

There are automated ways to do this, but why bother? Why don't you just make a search for whatever formats you are interested in and save the search?
Once I figured out what I was looking at in the template/column listings of the tutorials, I had no trouble doing this - just typed {format} in and it now shows each book's format in my new Format column, so that I don't have to click on each book to see what it is.

Oops . Sorry about that. Calibre changes right along. I hate it when I recall older information that no longer applies.

The newest Calibre version (OSX) won't display the pre-loaded book on my Kobo, as the previous version I had had done. Is there a way to fix this or should I just wait for the (hopefully) next update?

Thanks!

I couldn't successfully install 0.7.3.0 on my computer (running Vista). Every time I tried to open the program after installation, I got a Python-script fail message. I tried repairing the installation to no avail; then I deleted Calibre, did a disk cleanup, restarted my system, and tried a fresh install. Still got the message. I finally deleted 0.7.3.0 and went back to the previous version.

Is there a bug in 0.7.3.0? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

@Kovid I'm unsure why but it may be that since this version changes to Python 2.7 when we go to update our Windows XP version we get the option to Change - Repair - Remove calibre. This is not a normal option we see when upgrading calibre. WT Sharpe chose repair and had problems. I chose remove then ran calibre-0.7.30.msi a second time and the install went fine.

I just thought some guidance to the masses might be required.

The best thing to do when you have problems is

uninstall

delete c:\program files\calibre2

re-install

That will ensure you have a clean install and will hopefully fix your problems.

I was just noticing when running calibre-0.7.30.msi I see an option screen that popped up that I never saw before when previously upgrading any program with the options of:

Change

Repair

Remove

Is everyone seeing this screen and if so what are they choosing.

As I stated I had no problem choosing Remove then running the MSI again.
