I think that Morgan Freeman described me best way back in the 70s when he said "I'm easy reader, I have got to read." I think that if I did not have something around to read I go out of my mind.

I totally understand that! I take something to read with me everywhere. It's a rare occurrence that I am stuck somewhere without a book.

Oh, yes. When I was a kid, I had a horror of being stuck somewhere without a book. I've gotten too addicted to the Internet and audiobooks as an adult but the Kobo is helping with that and I carry it with me everywhere. I'll never be stuck without again!

I totally agree. Kind of like American Express - don't leave home without it. I sometimes would have two or three books with me. If I was almost finished with one I needed to have a new one to start right away. It's one of my main arguments for having an e-reader.

Yes! I just finished an ARC DTB a few minutes ago. If I didn't have my ereader with me I would be SOL for the rest of the day.

Been cheating in my goal to reach 100 books read in 2011, I downloaded and read Thomas Paine's book (its really a book not a pamphlet) Common Sense. Read that one in one day so I cheated a little bit. If I am going to read 100 books in 2011 that means 8.3 books a month (100/12), 2.08 per week (8.3/4), so thus far I should have read 8.3*4= 33.2 for January through April and 2.08*3= 6.24 for the three weeks in May, 33.2+6.24= 39.44. I should be approximatly half way through the 39th book to be on track and I am up to 34, so I am 39.44-34 = 5.44 books behind, in other words I am five and one quater books behind.

I'm actually 5 books ahead (just finished book 43 last night), which is surprising considering that a month or so ago I was several books behind. I'm glad I have a buffer because I have a project coming up that's going to cut into my reading time.

No need for you to read any mathematics books, at least .

If you are going to reach the one hundred book goal by new year one should be at fifty books by now, I'm quite a bit shy of that goal. "Left to Right , top to bottom reading is out of site" morgan freeman says as EZ Reader.

Actually, one should be roughly at 41.6 books by now unless you're planning to take a month off.

(100/12)*5=41.66666666

I'm on book #49 right now. I expect I will lose some of my lead at some point so it's nice to be ahead now to give my self a buffer later on.

So I am a slight bit behind. I'm at 40, approximately 1 1/2 books behind.

I fell way behind, and lost track, recent health issues screwed up any hope of catching back up ... Roll on 2012 !

I'm at 59 books now with 24,839 pages. Almost halfway there for the 50k pages challenge.

I'm behind by about 11-12 books, but that's cool. I didn't really think I'd make it anyway. Have read some great books this year though, so as far as I'm concerned I'm ahead.
