I love Florida.

In our county, if a predator moves in, the Sheriff goes door to door letting everyone know. They usually don't last long. I guess they don't like the six foot signs in their neighbors yard pointing to their house that say "child molester". Oh well. Bye.

Well - sounds like a stretch of a case from what I've heard about the book, but hopefully they can make something stick to him. It kind of reminds me of not being able to convict the Mob on anything except tax evasion or postal fraud ... but jail is jail I guess.

I still have to think that anybody who has written such a thing has probably acted such a thing. But I'm sure the authorities have been investigating that angle like crazy too.

Pretty scary that in this day and age you can get arrested on an "obscenity" charge in a completely different state than the one issuing a warrant.

Think about it. Being arrested simply for what you've written, not anything you've actually done.

What's to keep the government from doing the same to political opponents? It should be the First Amendment, but hey, guess that doesn't count any more (like the rest of the Constitution)

In my state about a year ago, the Highway Patrol had a report that said everyone that owned a Gadsden flag should be considered a potential terrorist. So it's not really an imaginary issue, either. I'm sure the same people would love to find ludicrous charges to arrest them with for the "public good", just like this guy.

Here and now the issue is CHILD MOLESTERS. I don't care what "rights" anyone has to trample to take him - or any others - down. I think they should all get the death penalty as a mandatory minimum sentence since there is no possible way to change them.

He was arrested under the law. And I would like to see the LAW change to put automatic death penalties on all of them. Just my opinion and I stand by it.

Law or none I hope some vigilante takes him out.

I'm thinking you should be arrested for defending a child predator. What do you think about that?

Okay - this is what I understand.

1. The book describes actions to take to avoid prosecution in pedophilia. There are no pictures of children or pictures of obscene acts or any sort of child pornography in the book. I haven't actually seen the book - I'm just going by heresy there.

2. Authorities in Florida contacted the author and bought the book from him. He mailed it to him.

3. Now he is arrested for distributing Obscene material.

If that is a valid case ... then Amazon and all other book distributors certainly need to be going over their inventory with a fine tooth comb because it has all the sudden become illegal to mail a book which describes an illegal/obscene activity.

I guess I'd need to read the facts a little better but I'm kind of dubious as to what they are trying to pull off here legally.

Find something illegal the guy has actually DONE and then throw the book at him and the world will cheer. Right now they are just spinning wheels though.
