Yes, that's correct. It is a registered archeological site. That was the fastest and most convenient way to get the site closed off to recreational divers. But the 'reasons' for it being labeled as such are not for archeological purposes. Not much 'archeology' about a modern ship.

I was trying to give a big clue when I said that I thought Stitchy would get the war; I thought of it myself in reading the last selection of the MR Literary Book Club, which referenced it.

I admit the treaty has a local association, but that can be for bonus credit.

Well even without the mention of the MR Literary Book Club, I could have guessed this one if I had first looked at this thread sooner. The war was the Russo-Japanese War. It is also interesting that US President Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering the peace agreement, one of four US Presidents to win that award.

You see, that's why I like these quizzes. I just spent the last half hour on Wikipedia learning all about the Russo-Japanese War. Actually, pretty interesting. It was the war in which Japan emerged as a major power, and Russia lost a great deal of international prestige.

Woodrow Wilson, founder after the first World War of the League of Nations which the USA embarrassingly did not join.

The Russo-Japanese War was ended with the Treaty of Portsmouth (New Hampshire), which always strikes me as an odd location which could not be farther removed from the two combatants.

Excluding organizations name the four people who have won two Nobel prizes. Bonus question. Of these only one received two unshared prizes, and in totally unrelated fields. Who and what fields?

Marie Curie won twice, in physics and chemistry. She shared one award with her husband Pierre and won the other after his death, but I don't remember which is which.

After that, I'm guessing. Winston Churchill won in Literature; did he also win for Peace?

I had not thought this would require the use of Google searching, but now that I think of it for someone with out my great interest in this (early morning posting

) the primary question may be too obscure. Let me reverse the question order. Primary question: the one person that was the sole winner of two prizes . . . This I think should not be that difficult. Bonus question: Name all four double recipients. Issybird has one of these already in Marie Curie. Here is another hint that should help a lot. Four double winners, eight prizes, all but one of these prizes was awarded in physics or chemistry.

Correct. The Chemistry Prize in 1954 and The Peace Prize in 1962.

I'm sort of disappointed that I did not get to make use of my next clue, about the theory that Vitamin C helps prevent colds.
