Red face Kobo Libra 2 image - confusing firmware information

Hello,
I recently requested an image file for a Kobo Libra 2 reader N418. As I'm really discovering internal Kobo reader system, while I wait for your reply, I'm trying to figure out how this system is organized. I figure it will be useful when I will receive the image.

And I found a very confusing point :

Kobo Libra 2 and N418 are both printed on my faulty reader itself.

Version file on the SD card is as follow:
N418267020350,4.1.15,4.38.21908,4.1.15,4.1.15,0000 0000-0000-0000-0000-000000000388

I asked to ChatGPT to explain me the contents of the different fields of this file.

Item Meaning
- N418267020350 Full Serial Number (Hardware Prefix: N418)
- 4.1.15 Internal Linux Kernel Version
- 4.38.21908 Firmware Version (Kobo Software)
- 00000000-0000-0000-000000000388 Internal Unique Device Identifier

Key Inconsistency : Firmware 4.38.21908 corresponds to a recent generation (Libra 2, Clara HD, Sage, etc.).

This confirms that:
⦁ you do have a Kobo Libra 2,
⦁ but the code "N418" printed and in the serial number does not correspond to the actual firmware identifier.

This is a known printing or hardware batch error on certain Kobo Libra 2 series sold in late 2021/early 2022: they bear an N418 marking on the case and in the serial number, but internally use the N873 hardware profile (the one used on the Libra 2).

Conclusion : Your e-reader is indeed a Kobo Libra 2, for any updates or reinstallations, use the firmware for n873 (Kobo Libra 2). Definitely do not use the one for n418 (Aura H2O).

So, at the end of the day, do you know what kind of firmware I really need ? N418 as per the print on the reader or in the current version file, or N873 as adviced by ChatGPT ???

Thanks you in advance for your reply ...and for the correct firmware ...

Serge.
