This audiobook, read by David Case I think, included the historical notes at the end.

Reading Dead in the Family. A little slow to start (all the recapping), but I'm enjoying it now.

Thanks, Ben. That's good to know. The Flashman novels wouldn't be complete without. Best. Neil |

Currently reading "The Ghost Writer" by John Harwood. A brilliant update of the classic Victorian ghost story. Creepy, atmospheric and engrossing. .

***Here are the Inkmesh search results, Neil***
Many thanks, Dreams. I did check Inkmesh, but -- like the other sites -- it brings up Every Man Dies Alone rather than Alone in Berlin ... hang on, though ... maybe it's the same book under a different title. The blurb sounds similar. I'll give it a go. Thanks again. Neil |

Now for some Mil SF. The Sharp End by David Drake. From 1993. So far it's the expected action, although the first bit is just setting up the immediate background of the characters. |

I'm just about done with The Last Stormlord by Glenda Larke.
My problem is I have no idea what to read next. I'm thinking of the first Sookie Stackhouse book or maybe the latest Star Trek book. Last edited by JSWolf; 05-25-2010 at 11:55 AM. |

Neilmarr, Dreams,
I believe Alone in Berlin is the UK title of Every Man Dies Alone. There's a US Kindle version, but I doubt that's what you want. Even the German original (Jeder stirbt für sich alleine) is hard to find as ebook due to rights issues. In the end I had to get a paper version. I'm reading City of Dragons by Kelli Stanley -- 1940s crime noir set in San Francisco with a female private detective. It's good, with great period details, though the story's pace is a little slow. Still, it's right down my alley. Steve |

Many thanks, Steve. I'll backtrack ... I'm sure I say the title *Every Man Dies Alone* in ebook when I was searching for *Alone in Berlin*. You're right, they're one in the same book. Hope *City of Dragons* is still going down well. Cheers. Neil

Just finished Looking for Jake - short stories by China Mieville. An interesting selection, mostly good with side orders of weird, macabre and disturbing thrown in for good measure. For something lighter finally got round to reading Dead(ish) by our own Nomesque - brilliantly twisted and funny. And next up will probably be The City and the City - back to China Mieville again.

About halfway through The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I am really enjoying this book. Many times I get so caught up in it at night I miss my bedtime & have a hard time getting up with my son in the morning.
