That already happens with epubs if the font size is small enough. It might just be that. If it is, hopefully it will be triggered with a larger font than on the Libra H2O.

Thanks for the tip - I didn't realize my Libra could do that. It is a bit on the small side though. The Forma's on special here, 10% off, does it do the same thing, but with larger font size than the Libra?

The Forma will do the same thing when reading epubs. It's triggered by RMSDK when the column width is too high. You can even manage 3 columns if you don't mind reading in flyspeck 6.

Before the Elipsa was announced, I thought Kobo was going to release the Forma 2. (I guess I had a bad source?) My Forma is 2.5 years old and isn't damaged or running out of battery power, so I saw no reason to switch. It doesn't use USB-C but considering how long the battery lasts, I just recharge it overnight. |

![]() The Elipsa definitely would fill my gadget lust, and I would absolutely love to play with one, it doesn't fill any real need. I think the screen is to large for use on my commute. And I have no real need for a pen. And the price is to high for a toy to play with. I think if I was doing that sort of thing, I'd go to a full-blown tablet or a convertible laptop. The Forma in my device list is used by my wife. I bought it for her, but, tested it for a couple of weeks first. I loved it and didn't want to give it up. We did a similar thing with the Aura ONE, so she returned the Aura ONE when she took the Forma. (For the record, the best answer I have found for the question, "Why do you need another ereader?" is, "I bought it for you, I'm just setting it up and testing it.") I liked the Forma enough that I considered getting one for myself. But, left it a bit while I reacquainted myself with the Aura ONE. And kept putting it off as it is a bit expensive. I have since gotten a Libra H2O, but, have come to the conclusion that I don't like the 7" size. They don't offer enough extra screen space to justify the larger overall size. Currently, I split my reading between the Libra H2O and the Clara HD. And I think I'd abandon the Libra H2O if it didn't have buttons. So, I'd probably buy an updated Forma. Or the current one if there was a good sale. Having said all that, if the Elipsa ever appears in a shop I can visit, I'll make sure I leave my credit card at home. The temptation might be to much. |

I just tested that on the Libra and the Forma in landscape mode, and even at the minimum pitch, the screen doesn't split into two pages. Is it because I only use kepubs? Would it work with epubs?

The Forma screen has more pixels than the Elipsa and if you don't need a pen, the added value is simply being able to afford such an expensive device.

Which has got absolutely nothing to do with my considerations for this device. And honestly, you should be embarrassed by that absurd reply.

Like David says, it works for EPUBs. It won't work for KEPUBs, because it's RMSDK (the EPUB reader) that does it.

As to this response, it is just stupid. As you have zero experience with this device, how do you know that it is absurd? As you so loudly and frequently have stated, it isn't a device for you. How about you let others decide if it is the right device for them? And not just insult them for having a different opinion. You are just embarrassing yourself with proclamations like this, and alienating anyone who might have been willing to listen. If you honestly want to help people decide on the best device, you need to stop trying to jam your opinion down their throats. |
