Exactly. Which is why people really need to do a bit of research before buying a device to see if it will satisfy their needs.

Relying on a cotton candy "review" from someone who has a dubious reputation and who stands to financially benefit from the sale of such devices is probably not the wisest of ideas.

This is basically the way i see it. Even my PC is still a core2duo and I'm happy with it.

Do not confuse the CPU (mem etc.) and the display. The display has hard limits which will not be overcome by an i7 underneath. But a rough impression comparing an i7 and a Z80 under the same display is a joke.

I have seen applications (and I am talking of "reading" applications) that on the MaxCarta, i.MX6SL, seem to be almost frozen in a semi-state of "panic" (as I cannot now remember the technical term), performing slower than the slow processor - slow as the consequence of the overall low specifications. The same applications, on the Max2, RK3288, output fast like an avalanche.

This message is being served through a 7000mAh battery. Replaceable. I am about to buy a backup for my phone, and it will be a 2014 model, somehow unfortunately, because we are living in interesting times and the market is affected by several factors of perversion.

In the specific case, you are well served, because I do not think that the RK3288 - Cortex-A17 - was ever superseded by a more efficient (cost effective etc.) technology. To the best of my not in-depth research.

I think that architecture for the Note is ok, Onyx should work optimizing the battery drain using Wifi and in the tablet in general that happens today.

Thanks good to know they send it instantly. I will wait few more days before ordering. I have heard horror stories of custom and shipping delays to US hence wary of it. There is even a thread on this here

Is anyone using the Onyx Note for heavy notetaking? Would you recommend it over the reMarkable if the writing experience comes first? I mainly care about its native notetaking app. Is it true that it sometimes freezes or that it doesn’t always register all the strokes of the stylus?

I have a Max 2 and not a Note, but for what it's worth, my choice for notetaking is the reMarkable. I tried the Max 2 a little for this, and it didn't work too much for me - the interface of the reMarkable is better (even though the app has some stupid flaws; but for what I have in mind, I don't think the Onyx app is any better - like, no copy-pasting of notes from one document to another, or even from one page to another).

So my device of choice is the Max 2 for full-size PDF reading, and the reMarkable for notetaking.

Hi dear Note owners,

i have a question regarding Exporting Notes from the Note, especially to Evernote.

How do you approach exporting?

At the moment i either do it with the Evernote app, and just import it. This is slow if there are multiple different notes that go into differen Books.

Alternativly i would want to do it via connecting the device to my pc. Stupid thing is i have to reboot the device to actually show my exported notes in the notes folder.

Input apreciated!

Thanks

Two devices sounds like a great idea. Use the Max2 to scribble into the pdf which note to look at, and the reMarkable can then be a simple notebook to make multiple pages for one page of pdf, or multiple pages in pdf for one note and any combination thereof, even if neither device allows to do that native.

Also solves the problem of multi window mode.

Actually, the native pdf note taking app in Max2/Note (neoreader) allows multiple pages of notes per page of pdf when using the split screen mode for writing notes (side notes). All of these, along with other annotations can be exported as a separate pdf file from the app itself.

Still, remarkable is probably better as a writing device since that is its primary function.
