Posting this week’s report early as I need to finish backing up all of my files on this PC to DVD. I have everything backed-up to USB, cloud, and/or my external harddrive already, but I want double backups (in some case it will be triple). Planning to “upgrade” from Vista to Windows 7 on my main PC on Monday. (But I am actually reformatting the harddrive and installing Windows 7 fresh).

Better late than never, but in my defense Vista has been working fine until this year (it’s still actually working fine, but Firefox, etc are ending/have already ended browser support). I know I will eventually have to go to Windows 10 (blech!) but I cannot afford a new PC I want at moment, so upgrading to 7 is my compromise. Supposedly my PC meets the specs to go to Windows 10, but even though the harddrive and video card (plus a few other parts) have been replaced, it’s still an older PC, so I think 7 is the better choice. Hopefully in the next few years I’ll be able to buy another new PC. (I could probably scrape together the money for a new PC, but can’t afford to replace all of my programs at the moment. And after lots of research, nearly all of my programs I use regularly will work on 7 but not 10). So fingers crossed.

I updated to Android Nougat on my phone and it's so....white. I don't like it, but that's hopefully just my resistance to change talking. I'll get used to it eventually.

Also up to Heart of Obsidian in my complete Psy/Changeling series reread (chronological order). It’s one of my top 3 favorites for the series so I am trying to savor it.

Also, that represents why I buy more books at Amazon than anywhere else...I can now buy the audio book for that title for only $2.99, if I want to.

Can you buy an audible yet with Amazon gift cards? I know you can't from Audible's​ site but was wondering if if you check the box to add narration if it goes through Amazon.

I agree. I would like to be able to put money into Audible for WSV purchases, instead of all those $2 charges going into my CC account. But I don't think that works, either.

It's insane that Audible doesn't have a gift dollar balance option. As every merchant knows, they get the use of the money until it's redeemed and some of those balances never convert to a purchase. Just stupid.

Installed windows 7 with no issues so far other than I cannot get it to recognize ADE 1.7.2 and 2.0.1 as separate programs. They both installed fine, but when I try to associate file types it cannot see the difference.

So since I need 2 to get books guess I'm stuck with it as the viewer too. Oh well, change is inevitible I guess.

Strange that Vista could tell the difference and 7 cannot though.

I'm reading Minx by Julia Quinn and it made me think of our dear member KYBunnies as the herione has a bunny as a pet.

It's third in the series but all in the trilogy have been very enjoyable.

Splendid is my favorite as we get introduced to the characters in it and it's just so funny. Dancing at Midnight is a beauty and the beast type story. Very charming. Minx is a My Fair Lady type story. The hero is friends to the characters in the first and second book.

You know me, I seldom read three books in a row by the same author and like them all so they must be good.

I do miss old-style Julia Quinn. I read Dancing at Midnight back near when it first came out and was excited to find a new author I liked.

The entire series should be read in order. Splendid, Dancing at Midnight, Minx.

Emma and Belle are cousins and you meet Belle in the first book. You also meet Dunford who is friends with Alex and Belle. All characters are in all books it's a continuous story and well done. There are Easter eggs in book two and three. I laugh every time I find one. Quinn is brilliant!

The Little Teashop of Horrors by Jane Lovering is on sale for $0.99.

I read this last month after a glowing review at Dear Author and loved it. The title makes it sound like some kind of romantic suspense or something, but it isn't that at all. It's a lovely, quirky, very British romance with a sweet, wounded beta hero and an intelligent, sensible heroine.

Here's the synopsis:
