Hi Guys,

thank you again for your great work. I have just a quick question,

I managed to follow instructions all the way to the point of downgrading to 5.7.4 but once I put once I put Branch Delays Factory Image Generic Jailbreak, go to home, search for ;installHtml and hit enter, nothing happens just a quick flash to the home page.

If i mis-type (on purpose) it says 'there are no results' which means when typed correctly, the word can be found but cant be executed.

Has anyone got an idea on how to proceed?

Bought an "All-New Kindle" on Prime Day. The serial number prefix is G000, which is not on this table: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers

Country of purchase (the one it was sent to)
Country of sale (the one it was sent from)

That is a Black KT-3 (no support yet - but I just reported it to the proper person)
We need a copy of the USB storage area before you start using it, please.

The device came pre-configured with my amazon account. I input wifi information and it synced a couple books to my device. I haven't opened any books yet. not sure if that counts as "using it" yet. If it does, can I do something like factory reset before pulling whatever is needed? If it's covered in the sticky don't bother replying, I'll go rtfm

It might still be useful (if we cross our fingers and hope the information we need was not overwritten by your books). Factory reset will NOT help. Just provide an image (download link) and we will see if it is useful. Thanks.

I have a KV and was able to downgrade my firmware to the one provided in the link. The next step was to move Branch Delay's factory firmware jail break onto the kindle and run ;installHtml.

So after running the command, the screen changes to include a progress bar which fills up maybe 90% of the way, then goes directly back to the home screen. When I check the kindle again the tar.gz file is still there which I read earlier in your post should be a red flag, and to stop immediately and notify you. Am I doing something wrong, or have I missed something?

I tried to install the hotfix anyway and unfortunately I received error 7 update was unsuccessful

I tried to use Linux and the result was the same, no luck.

Is it OK for Bridges' file to run with permission (-rw-r-r)?

Anyway guys thank you for your support.

Please dont wreck your heads over this minor issue of mine am ok with kindle the way it is at the moment.

In recent years I jailbreak my kindles for wallpaper hack only and the wallpapers of pw3 aren't too bad either, so am OK for now up until next time when I need to find something to do

P.S like @satjit101 above, the tar.gz file is still there my pw3 doesn't even move 1% it just flashes once back to the hme screen

This one will drop a "You Are Jailbroken" book on success.
I don't *think* the file is supposed to disappear automatically, but don't quote me on that, I don't have the code in front of me.

I believe this worked! I got the "You are jailbroken" book this time. Thank you so much for your help and quick response! I'm still a kindle noob, so I apologize for any silly questions
