“ When, therefore, Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation. All the obligations of perpetual union, and all the guaranties of republican government in the Union, attached at once to the State. They left that out of the Texas history books. No real surprise. They also left out an explosion that could have been prevented if the legislation hadn't put a bill to the side.

Simple Suppers Cookbook from Moosewood Restaurant--Now Only $1.99 (90% Off)!

This makes, what, about 2 million cookbooks from Moosewood Restaurant? I don't care, with markdowns like these, I'll buy every one of them.

This one is not new, being published in 2010.

Moosewood Restaurant Simple Suppers: Fresh Ideas for the Weeknight Table. By Moosewood Collective. Rated 4.6 stars, from 80 reviews at the present moment at Amazon. Print list price $32.50; digital list price $18.99; Kindle price now $1.99. Clarkson Potter, publisher. 304 pages. https://www.amazon.com/Moosewood-Res.../dp/B00486UEW6.

Book Description
Eating the Moosewood Restaurant way every day has never been easier.

Whole grains. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Lean, nutrient-rich fish. We all know the virtues of a well-balanced diet—of choosing foods that nourish our bodies and respect the environment—but as the world around us gets busier and more complicated, we also know how difficult it can be to prepare a wholesome, satisfying supper. With an emphasis on healthful natural foods, Moosewood Restaurant has operated successfully for more than thirty years and has been acclaimed as a driving force in the world of creative vegetarian cuisine. Now the Moosewood Collective goes back to basics with
Moosewood Restaurant Simple Suppers to deliver fresh, imaginative, and quickly prepared dishes for the weeknight table that are also delicious and reliable.

Shortcut Chili. Creamy Lemon Pasta. Warm French Lentil Salad. Pine Nut–Crusted Fish. Mocha Sorbet. From soups and pastas made with just a few pantry essentials to crisp salads, stir-fries, sandwiches, and desserts, these easy-to-prepare recipes are brilliant as is. However, the folks at Moosewood realize that flexibility is the cornerstone of weeknight cooking, so you’ll find clever ingredient substitutions, alternative cooking methods, and serving suggestions alongside the recipes in
Simple Suppers—it all depends on what’s in the fridge and what sounds appetizing at the moment. Make extra Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella Salad on Monday and toss leftovers with hot pasta for Tuesday’s supper. No onions for Black Beans with Pickled Red Onions? Try the beans over rice with Quick Avocado and Corn Salsa instead. The 175-plus recipes in Moosewood Restaurant Simple Suppers are as flexible as they are flavorful—the perfect go-to for a quick, healthy meal any day of the week, any time of year.

Bestseller in Seasonal Cookbooks in the Kindle Store--A Foster's Market Cookbook.

I didn't have room above to put that it is only $1.99 now or that that is 88% off of the digital list price.

In addition to being the #1 seller in a Kindle store category, this book is also a #1 seller in two categories in the non-Kindle books at Amazon.

The Foster's Market Cookbook: Favorite Recipes for Morning, Noon, and Night. By Sara Foster; Sarah Belk King; et al. Rated 4.6 stars, from 59 reviews at the present moment. Print list price $35.00; digital list price $16.99; Kindle price now $1.99. Random House, publisher. 336 pages. https://www.amazon.com/Fosters-Marke.../dp/B0053CT254.

Book Description
For more than a decade, Foster’s Markets have been cooking and baking foods made fresh each day from ingredients picked locally at the peak of flavor. Now Sara Foster shares more than two hundred delicious recipes, providing modern takes on favorite home-style classics.

The Foster’s Market Cookbook features old-fashioned ideas about how good food should taste and new-fashioned ideas about prep times and the use of high-quality prepared ingredients. Filled with eighty color photos, this is the perfect cookbook to refer to over and over again for everyday meals or for entertaining, whether it be for two or for twenty.

Before moving to Durham, North Carolina, Sara worked alongside Martha Stewart in the kitchen of Martha’s catering business. When she opened her own catering company, Sara kept her food simple yet soulful, trusting the complex flavors of seasonal ingredients. This same basic principle guides the daily offerings at Foster’s Markets in Durham and Chapel Hill. Each week the markets serve nearly a thousand customers hungrily searching out Sara’s innovative, new-style home cooking. And now food lovers everywhere will be able to prepare with ease sumptuous dishes such as Roasted Chicken, Sweet Potato, and Arugula Salad; Herb-Grilled Salmon with Fresh Tomato-Orange Chutney; and Risotto Cakes with Roasted Tomatoes and Foster’s Arugula Pesto. Also featured are a host of wonderful desserts, such as Lemon Chess Pie with Sour Cherries and Chocolate Espresso Layer Cake with Mocha Latte Frosting.

Featuring mouthwatering favorites from the market and dozens of helpful sidebars that discuss ingredients, techniques, and make-ahead tips, The Foster’s Market Cookbook provides all you need to know to make the most of every season’s finest offerings.

I used to see (as recently as a couple of years ago) a lot of cookbooks from Pamela Kazmierczak. For some reason, I don't anymore. This one is actually several years old. I'm curious as to why she's not putting out the cookbooks as she did, and hoping that everything is alright with her.

In the U.K., where I assume that you grew up, were there ever "Popeye" cartoons on television? Everytime that I see something about spinach, I connect it with Popeye. Anytime that he got into a situation that he couldn't get himself out of, he would find some way to open a can of spinach and down it. All of a sudden he had a tremendous energy burst and was invincible. I'm sure that parents liked the way that it reinforced to their children to eat their greens (green vegetables). There's a brand of spinach here locally, at least, called "Popeye Spinach."

We have Popeye spinach too.

Oh and on that author, my guess would be that she either wrote a cookbook on everything or she wasn't making the money and gave up on the endeavor.
She got a reputation for wait and her books will go free.
