Downloads at Tantor are all reduced to $4.99 for June. I just picked up The Daughter, by Jane Shemilt, a new thriller that had been on my wish list at Audible.

If you don't mind the clutter, they also have a list of audiobooks on CD for $1.99 each. I think that's the lowest price I've seen. You'd have to buy quite a few but I seem to recall they also have free shipping for orders over $50 (though I might be off on the dollar value).

I hope that I don't have to actually download each book on the appointed day--since the app doesn't seem to allow me to move the books to an SD card, I barely have room in the internal storage for a single title at a time!

And yes, you only have a 24-hour time frame to get the book.

After downloading, delete the book from your mobile device. The book is still stored in the cloud for future retrieval.

This is what I did, both to see if it would work and because I don't think this is a book I'll ever read anyway, so if I did lose access, no biggie. I wonder if I really have to go to the bother of downloading, or if it's enough to just add to my library. I may experiment depending on what the next freebie is.

Downpour deal of the week starting today is W.P. Kinsella's lovely baseball novel Shoeless Joe, the basis of the movie Field of Dreams, for only $3.95. Narrator is Grover Gardner. I couldn't resist getting this one!
