Press first of all back button then press power button keeping pressed back button, and wait for a while, it worked on my M96 that I received a week ago from ereader-store.de seller, if you bought your devices through other seller maybe the recovery system was different.

Last operational update.zip for M96 is: http://www.ereader-store.de/DATA/M96/Archive/update.zip

I've never tried on my M96 the Booxtor recovering bricked for T68. But maybe it could work if you replace the update.zip included in the package by the last for M96.

I texted to onyx international. They provided me recovery ROM. Finally my m96 back to form.

Hi kreti, if you bought your M96 on www.ereader-store.de, the official recovery ROM is the last update.zip because it updates the whole device's system (included the "recovery.img") if you apply a "factory reset".

So, if your device comes from ereader-store you can follow this instructions:

I´m coding an app for the M96 as a personal project to learn coding for android jni, asm for arm, etc etc.....
and when it madures a little more I will put it in github

Now I´m using OpenVG as high level api (https://code.google.com/p/androidvg/) it is a software library and works over gles1.1.

It works fine and is not too slow but I think it will be better with hardware acceleration. The onyx processor (imx6solo lite)
has a vivante gc355 that includes a openvg hardware support api (and GLES1.0)

Ok, I know that the eink and the epd of the M96 will never play video but if I spent minus time procesing frames the
app performance will be increased.

I spent some weeks trying to compile etna_viv and mesa3D... I get working the etnaviv 2d samples (bitblt, etc) but
(obviously) the mesa drivers not.... finally I noticed that GC355 and openvg is not supported
(or is not in the targets of the developers) and need much more work and knowledge than I have.

As the last 2 files are included in the system of the m96 I try to copy the first 6 to system/lib/egl and system/lib
(libGAL.so is not possible to copy because is always using by the system).... changes the egl.conf ;D ....as espected it did NOT work!! ...
and need to reinstall the firmware.

I have not needed knowledge to compile the m96 firmware as is... nor to apply the patches and test. although I would love to do it.

The doc of freescale says that the patches includes some performance improvements... it would be nice if m96 have.

Do you have any plans to include hardware acceleration for OpenGL 1.0 and OpenVG in future versions of firmware?

Thanks, Kuskro. My device is Arta Tech M96 Universe, but they not public update firmware since september, based on 1.6.2 version of firmware.

I was thinking the posibility of update the firmware from onyx-international, whith public updates every month or so, and now have 1.6.6 version, but I have fear that spoil the book.

Have anyone update the arta tech m96 with onyx-international firmware?

As per previous post I'm confused about the relationship between the Booxter firmware updates and the Onyx International updates who have just released another one. Can someone explain? I got my M96 from http://ereader-store.de and was very pleased until I tried the last update which stopped ContentBrowser from working.

Boostor is part of ereader-store support team. His firmwares are smart updates over onyx-international updates, and his last stable update for M96 was delivered on 2014-10-13. Aforementioned team is working on a new Android 4.4 kitkat.

I am thinking about installing the new update for the T68, but I am a bit worried about the reported problems with highlighting and selecting text. My preferred PDF reader on the T68 is RepliGo Reader. So if anyone happens to have this installed on their devices and the most recent update, a report on how it affects highlighting, text selection, etc would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
